"The Dead and the Hungry"

I don't remember where I got the inspiration for this poem. I just know that I love it! This became a "Black Annie" song. It was a great song, too! Matt wrote this killer guitar part to it.
September 12, 1992

The ones that are hungry live next door.
Rattling their bones, falling on the floor.
And yet they keep on dancing when there isn't any more.
The one's that are so hungry live next door.

The one who lies still, she lives upstairs.
She never once smiled, she never once cared.
She used to let the summer in but now she wouldn't dare.
The one who lies so still lives upstairs.

Knocking at your door with arms outstretched
Knocking, knocking, ever closer to death
Heart breaking, guts wrenched
Knocking at your door with arms outstretched.
