Isn't she lovely?
Erika is my oldest and best friend. She will be my maid of honor in the wedding. We met at UMSL through a mutual acquaintance. When we first met, Erika thought I was a loud, cranky punk (I'm not sure what her actual words were, but she assured me they weren't nice). We hung out at the fraternity house with a bunch of other girls and went to the Lake of the Ozarks a couple of times. She does this weird thing and she doesn't even know it: she makes me funny!
What times we've had together! She is always happy, no matter what is stressing her out that day. Her husband is the sweetest. Her family couldn't be more hospitable. She is a constant in my life that I hope will never go away. You know, she's the kind of friend who you can go months without talking to, and when you finally do again, it feels as though no time has passed between you. And she's brilliant! She has forgotten more than I will ever know about art and art history.
One time she and I were sitting enjoying Ice Skating competitions on television. We made up an anthem to sing for Russia since we didn't know the words to the actual one. We were shouting at the skaters, "Carom into the wall!" but they wouldn't. I showed her my 'closed-eye' drawings. She thought they were hilarious! Especially "Boy Kicking" and "Freaky Cat". We fell out for the rest of the night imitating my stupid pictures. It was a blast. It's always a blast with Erika.
She's so lucky! She got to go to Italy to study art for a month! Actually that was a really hard program to get into. She got her Masters Degree from Notre Dame but still hasn't let me read her thesis! I am so impressed by her! So does all these things I could never do. That's why I secretly envy her, the vixen, and plan to destroy... her... WORLD!!!!
HAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAH!!!!
(This is evil laughter, just in case you couldn't tell)
I know she'll read all this and blush. Either that or laugh out loud. What a gal!
