SHMOOPIES!! (plus liza)

I did go to work today, even though I didn't have to. It was a teacher institute day, and I guess it's one of those things where if you go, no one cares, if you don't, no one cares. I got paid to be bored from 8 to noon.

I have been shopping. I need to pull out my Post-Its with nasty messages to myself written on them and stick them all over my apartment to remind myself that my shopping habit is totally unnecessary. It's so dumb. I stop short of going overboard and I have the $$$ to buy what all I buy, but I just don't NEED to buy most of the things I buy, but I do. NO SHOPPING FOR YOU, MISSY. NO NO NO. BAD ROBIN. YOU SUCK ASS. NO MORE. I totally know WHY I shop so much and why I feel it so necessary to have lot of whatever styles are current. Many people like clothes and fashion. That's why there is such a huge number of magazines devoted to fashion, and I'm not talking Cosmo or anything. I'm talking the real fashion mags, like Vogue or Elle. Lucky (the magazine) for the shopaholics. In Style, Vanity Fair, and W for women who like fashion, beauty, and pop culture. Like I said, many people like clothing and fashion. I am one of those people. It interests me. Aside from that, I know my "need" to shop and always have new, nice stuff is my weird way of validating that I think I'm attractive. I may not always be happy with my physical "flaws" or whatever, but damnit my outfit is nice!!!! :P

Speaking of shopping, I've got two places to share. I have discovered that I like French Connection. They only have one in Chicago, and they don't have too many shops in the US, but I'm kinda liking it. I say kinda because it's a little bit more expensive than I'd want to shop at for a lot of things, but I like to look. Think Express/Urban Outfitters hybrid plus $30-40 more per item, and you've got French Connection. I think more so than their clothing they're popular for their unique slogan tshirts. I bought one. woohoo!! anyway, the brand is a European brand. French Connection United Kingdom. Initials FCUK. Arrange the letters and whaddya have? That's right. So they have little baby tshirts with fcuk on them, and then they have different ones with slogans, like "lucky fcuk", "cool as fcuk", "fcuk fashion", "hot as fcuk", etc. they're funny. hahahahahaha

so i've now found my safe haven when it comes to underwear shopping and my monetary support for lingerie companies. i think you're well aware of my thoughts on victoria's secret. I've now found what I think could be a good solution. GapBody. Awesome. The Michigan Ave. Gap store is 4 stories tall and the 3rd floor is a GapBody store. Totally cute, non-granny stuff, all being modeled by women who have totally normal figures (go figure, a company who is using REAL, COMPLETELY ATTAINABLE figures to model their lingerie. what a concept! maybe there is hope after all) and they actually sell my real bra size. Gap is the greatest clothing store ever (except for their pants, because usually they just don't fit me right. Too big in the hips)

I read an interesting article today about the revival of regional accents. I'm too sleepy to explain. I'm drained and that explains why I'm babbling so much about stupid things. I gotta take a nap.

Radiohead will be playing on Letterman tonight. I'll be tuning in. Will you?

why won't Sassy's dandruff go away?

I love you, shmoopie :)
