DDR, It's not a hobby it's a lifestyle.

Dance Dance Revolution

You may not have heard about it, but it is fast
becoming quite popular. It's a game unlike any you may
have played before, it requires dexterity, agility,
stamina and a decent rhythm.

The basis of the game is one, similar to dancing.
You pick a song rated by it's difficulty, the harder
the song the faster it gets, and the more steps it
has.

There are 4 different arrows(Left, right up and down)
that you step on, trying to match the beat of the
song. The more "on beat" you are, the better your
score gets.

Quite intimidating at first, but quite addicting,
it's a game I've dedicated a good chunk of time and
money to for the last 9 months.

I remember the first time I saw a DDR machine. I was
at one of the many city arcades one day with a few
friends, and one of them started playing.
We were all quite impressed because this guy was
around 6'5 and 300 pounds, but he was doing quite
well and made it look easy.

I never actually tried the game until a few months
later, when I was at another one of our arcades and
decided to give it a try.

After picking the easiest song I could, I promptly
failed 30 seconds later and vowed never to play again.

Not even 2 months later I was out shopping and
decided to give it another shot, this time though I
didn't do too badly and played quite a few times.

Around 8 games later(I told you, this game is quite
easy to get addicted to) I was hooked and have been
playing ever since.

Now 9 months into playing, I can easily do most 7-8
steppers and according to my friends am not a bad
freestyler either :D
