Pre Sem Club Mentoring Groups
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another…” Hebrews 10:25a
Goals:
· To provide pre-seminary students the opportunity to grow together and encourage one another in a small-group setting
· To offer a forum where guys preparing for the ministry can pray, read scripture, and offer spiritual insight together
· To allow upper- and under-classmen to interact in a personal way that allows them to share advice
Grow, Encourage, Enable…
This is designed to be really open-ended. All we will do is assign you to a group and offer you suggestions for getting your group together. How often your group meets is up to you. If, for whatever reason, your group absolutely doesn’t work out, let Jeff (8707) or Mike (8720) know and we will work it out.
Suggestions for getting your group together:
· Try out one of the new coffee shops in Seward.
· Read scripture.
· Share prayer requests, pray together, and then pray for each other between meetings.
· Meet early one morning for breakfast (Janzow is pretty empty at 7-7:30).
· Share insight about classes, books, music, or anything else that you have found insightful, spiritually enlightening, funny, etc.
· Get a Bible Study book and work through it.
· Pick a topic you want to study together (other denominations, evolution, the reformation).
· Go bowling.
· Barbecue.
· Meet with a professor for an hour or so and tap his/her brain about whatever questions you have.
· Prank call Mike.
