Chapter six: A feast and a voice
Malarka lead them into a study where they saw an Elf standing next to a elderly man with a great grey beard.
‘My Lord Elrond.’ Malarka said bowing. The three elves hearing Lord Elrond’s name bowed too. Kal hit Oin’s shoulder and he bowed slightly.
‘Malarka the Green, has graced us with her presence, I see.’ Lord Elrond said smiling. ‘How have you been?’
‘There is urgent news I have to discuss with you and Gandalf the Grey. For I heard of his unfortunate stay at Isenguard.’ Malarka said nodding towards the elderly man.
‘Hello, Malarka. I see you have acquired your own bunch.’ Gandalf said nodding towards the elves and dwarf.
‘Yes, they are involved in the news I bring. I can not say in front of them, for they do not understand completely. Either do you or Lord Elrond for it was forgotten.’ Malarka said. ‘Lord Elrond, would we be able to stay here in Rivendale?’ Malarka asked.
‘Most certainly. Since you are here, I will invite you and your friends to the counsel being held tomorrow.’ Lord Elrond said. ‘There you will be able to say the news you bring.’
‘Thank you, Lord Elrond.’ Malarka bowed again.
‘Your welcome, child. For a friend of Gandalf the Grey is a friend of me and my kin.’ Lord Elrond said smiling. ‘I saw see you to your rooms. Gandalf, I must leave. We will discuss this later.’ Lord Elrond said nodding towards the elderly man.
Lord Elrond lead them to separate rooms, in the same hall. Oin was taken where the other dwarfs were staying.
‘Poor Oin.’ Kal said.
‘Did you hear him grumbling when Lord Elrond said he’d be staying with the other dwarfs?’ Tintil smiled. ‘Poor guy.’
‘I think that we should look around.’ Morril said.
‘I agree.’ Tintil said.
‘Yes! I would love to. It is so beautiful here.’
Morril lead them around Rivendale, Kal and Tintil were talking behind them.
‘How could I have been so stupid?’ Tintil asked.
‘It wasn’t your fault.’ Kal said.
‘I should have noticed that Arorod was evil.’ Tintil said. ‘That fact that he used me is just sickening.’
‘Don’t think about him. What did you think of the Mirkwood elves?’ Kal asked. ‘Morril, what was your impression?’
‘Anorolas, seemed friendly.’ Morril smiled at Tintil.
‘He was just being nice. I think that he saw that Arorod was someone special to me, so he jested with Oin.’ Tintil said.
‘I don’t think so, Tintil! I think that there is a Prince that is taken with our little Tintil.’ Kal said. ‘
He is very handsome…’Tintil said. ‘I shouldn’t be talking like this! Arorod just betrayed us and me and I am talking about the prince of the realm that our kin left!’ Tintil said grabbing her hair.
‘Tintil, stop.’ Kal said.
‘It’s alright. Arorod did something that he is going to regret later. Don’t think of him, or you will end up like him.’ Morril said smiling. ‘What did you think of the other Prince? What was his name?’
‘Legolas.’ Kal said.
‘Legolas and Anorolas….’Morril said. ‘Get them under your thumb….than destroy them!’ Morril paled.
‘What is wrong?’ Tintil asked Morril.
‘Nothing….I think we should go lay down….’ Morril said weakly…
Later that afternoon, Tintil and Kal were in Kal’s room talking about their life before the whole adventure started.
‘Tintil, are you alright.’ kal asked.
‘Yes and no.’
‘Is it because of Arorod?’ Kal asked.
‘Yes and no.’
‘IS that all you are going to say?’ Kal asked jokingly.
‘Yes and no.’ Tintil said laughing.
‘It’s good to hear you laugh. For I have missed it the last few days.’ Kal said smiling. ‘To me, it seems that the Prince of Mirkwood seems to be taken with you.’ Kal smiled.
‘That’s wear the Yes comes in. Arorod was the no. I thought I love Arorod. Than he betrayed Morril and us. Than Anorolas came into my sight and I felt safe and important. I don’t know what to think anymore.’ Tintil said. A knock at the door came when Tintil leaned on Kal’s shoulder.
‘I’ll get that.’ Kal said. Morril and Malarka stood at the door.
‘Morril! Malarka! What is wrong?’ Kal asked.
‘Nothing is wrong, Kal. There is a feast in honor of the recovery of Frodo Baggins of the Shire.’ Morril smiled. ‘Halflings!’
‘halflings!’ Tintil asked. Tintil had always loved stories of different races and lands.
‘yes! We are invited. You may see your Prince, Tintil.’ Morril smiled.
‘Enough said on that subject.’ Malarka said suddenly. ‘I have just come from a meeting with Lord Elrond. All of you and Oin, along with myself have been invited to a counsel tomorrow. I want you all ready at eight in the morning.’ Malarka said. ‘Don’t tell anyone of this.’ The elves nodded and smiled.
The feast was a wonder to the she-elves, who were of a lower-class in Mirkwood when they left. They continued to be poor for they were still building their home. Oin was terribly put out, from the slendor of the ‘elf party’
‘nothing for the dwarves to do. Except watch a bunch of elves walk around and look pretty.’
‘I think we should take that as a compliment, Kal. What do you think Morril?’ Tintil joked.
‘Morril?’ Kal asked when she didn’t answer. Tintil looked over wear Morril was looking. There were two children it seemed, standing by the fire talking. Morril’s eyes seemed to long for the halfling.
‘Morril?’ Tintil asked.
‘MORRIL!’ Oin cried. Some elves looked at the group, Tintil apologized to them but they nodded with a smile on their faces when the realized that they were young elves, that have never experienced a feast like this.
Morril looked around as Oin was complaining about being bored. Her gaze fell upon a child like creature. Something seemed to be calling towards her…
‘Morril…Morril..come to me.’ the same voice that spoke to her earlier spoke again.
‘Morril!’ Oin’s voice cut through her thoughts.
‘Sorry what was happening?’ Morril asked.‘
Nothing…Oin was commenting on Lord Elrond’s lovely feast!’ Tintil smiled. Morril nodded and looked over by the fire, the child-like creatures were gone.
