Chapter 4: Untitled

'Are you sure it was Crebain?' Gandalf questioned.

'I'm positive. My eyes never lie to me.' Eldiriel said.

'Never trust an elf! Remember what happened when you gave Gollum to Legolas! He's lose again!' Gimli cried.

'Things happen for a reason, Master Dwarf.' Legolas answered.

'Yes, what is the reason of letting Gollum go?' Gimli questioned.

'We never let him go. We were attacked. If Gollum was still in Mirkwood, something in the future might have had a turn for the worse.' Legolas said.

'Lets us get going, for it is only an hour to sun up. We need to get moving, in case the crebain come back.' Aragorn said.

'On to Charadhras!' Gimli shouted.

Hours later, as the Fellowship started to climb the mountains it began to snow.

'No offense, Gimli, but Charadhras doesn't seem happy to see you.' Merry said after he threw a snow ball at Boromir's head.

'Stop that!' Boromir cried.

'Hey Merry, I think he's annoyed with us.' Pipin said loudly.

'That's a shame!' Merry answered just as loudly. Boromir sighed, but as soon after another snowball hit him followed by laughter.

'Happy even in the cold.' Aragorn laughed.

'Amazing creatures hobbits are.' Legolas replied.

'Yes the fate of Middle Earth is in their hands and they are throwing snowballs at the Steward of Minas Tirith's son.' Aragorn laughed.

As they continued to climb, the snow kept coming and the temperature dropped. The hobbits became and couldn't stop shivering. At one point, Frodo fell and Aragorn helped him up.

'Are you alright Frodo?'

'Ye--' Frodo started but when he reached up to feel the Ring, it wasn't there. 'The Ring'

Aragorn and Frodo were searching and Boromir found it near him. He looked at it than at Frodo and picked it up.

'Boromir?' Aragorn asked placing his hand on this sword that cut Sauron's hand. It struck fear in all creatures.

'Here Frodo.' Boromir said with a quick glare.

'Sam can you feel your feet?' Merry asked.

'No. Master Frodo?' Sam asked looking towards Frodo.

'Not one bit. Pipin?' Frodo asked.

'NO! Gimli! Why can't your mountain be warmer!!' Pipin yelled.

'Master Tooke, it is not wise to yell on this mountain. Keep your voice down.' Gandalf said over his shoulder.

'Pipin, you may have my cloak. I warn you, you will have to share with the others.' Legolas said handing the elven cloak to the hobbit.

'Frodo, come on in. It's big enough for you and me.' Pipin smiled at Frodo. Frodo took up his offer and huddled close to Pipin.

'Cousin, please tell me why?' Eldiriel asked confused.

'Eldiriel, we don't need our cloaks for warmth, but for protection and camoflage(sp), they need it for warmth.' Legolas said as he adjusted his bow.

'You aren't as spoiled as I thought.' Eldiriel stated.

'Living in Mirkwood can cause anything but spoiled elves. It has changed since you left.' Legolas replied.

'You mean banished.' Eldiriel said bitterly.

'Legolas!' Gandalf cried. The snow was up to his waist. 'Go ahead. Find out what is out there.'

Legolas jumped into action, bounding across the snow leaving no foot prints or any sign of him. He was about 100 meters away when he quickly sprinted back.

'Sauroman.' Gandalf hissed. 'We have to make a choice. We either go ahead or turn back and make for Moria.'

'Moria! Has the cold messed with your mind? We can't step one foot in Moria!' Eldiriel argued.

'The hobbit's can't make it any farther in this weather.' Boromir said glaring at Eldiriel.

'My cousin Balin will give us a grand welcome! Let us turn back and head for Moria!' Gimli agreed.

'Gandalf, Legolas you both know what dwarfs awakened there!' Eldiriel yelled.

'Don't yell!' Gandalf warned but too late. Snow piled on top of the Fellowship. Gandalf poked his head out of the snow, followed by Legolas and Eldiriel. The elves helped Merry, Pipin and Gimli out of the snow pile, Boromir and Aragorn were helping Sam and Frodo.

'Let the Ring bearer deside.' Aragorn suggested. Everyone looked at half frozen Frodo.

'Mor-r-ri-a' He stuttered from cold.

'Moria it is.' Gandalf said sadly.

The Journey down the mountain was rough. Aragorn, Boromir, Eldiriel and Legolas each had one hobbit on their backs as they broke the snow for Gandalf, Gimli and Bill the pony.

'Come along my dear hobbits. We will rest soon.' Gandalf said as he looked at the for half frozen hobbits.

'To Moria!' Gimli cried.

Following Gandalf and Aragorn, the hobbits began to become warmer. Merry and Pipin began joking again, which lifted the spirits of the fellowship. After climbing up a hill, Gandalf stopped and declared that they would continue in the morning.

'Boromir go get some wood for a fire. ' Aragorn said as he knelt next to the hobbits.

Sam got up to start getting things ready for supper.

'Nothing like good warm food in your stomach.' Sam said.

'Don't talk about food, Sam! I'm starving!' Pipin cried dramatically.

'Hey Pip, seed cake.' Merry teased.

'Stop!' Pipin cried.

'Sausages.'

'No!\rquote

'Eggs and bacon!'

'Noooo!'

'Roasted Ham, potatoes and gravy!'

'Stop!' Gandalf interrupted. 'We all don't appreciate it.'

'Gandalf, you know we can't go into Moria.' Eldiriel began.

'Frodo has decided.' Gandalf replied.

'He doesn't know anything about Moria! Or anything outside the shire for that matter!' Eldiriel continued. 'Nothing good will come out of this! Nothing!'

'Eldiriel, it doesn't matter. Our paths lead to Moria, you can't do anything about it!' Boromir interjected.

'Legolas! You have to agree with me!' Eldiriel turned on his cousin.

'Eldiriel, you can't change what has been decided for us, as the Fellowship, but you can decide for yourself. Lord Elrond said we had to make it to the mountains together. We made it.' Legolas said glaring at Eldiriel.

Silence came over the Fellowship. What Legolas said finally struck them all. At any time, any one of them could suddenly just leave. Eldiriel sat down next to Legolas.

'I would never leave the Fellowship, Legolas Greenleaf!' Eldiriel said to him angrily. 'How could you even think I'd go back on my word?'

'You and I know that, Eldiriel, but Frodo doesn't. They all don't know you as well as I do. When you say you are going to do something, you do it. You never go back on your word. I should know.' Legolas said looking over at Eldiriel anger and hurt in his eyes.

\lquote Either do you. It's in our blood.' Eldiriel replied.

'Eldiriel, no matter where our paths lead us, everyone here will look out for each other. You and Gandalf know what lies in Moria. Help the rest of us.' Legolas said. 'I have to on watch now.'

Eldiriel watched his cousin walk away from the fire and into the darkness.

'He's very wise.' Boromir said. Eldiriel looked over, he didn't notice Boromir had sat down next to them.

'Yes, many things have changed but you can always relie on Legolas go help.'

'You to have built some bridges since we started out.' Boromir stated.

'I guess we have.'

'Has he forgiven you?' Boromir asked.

'You know?' Eldiriel gasped.

'Yes, Sam's mouth wages when you get him going. We all know about it.'

'I'm really going to get it if we make it to The Golden Wood.' Eldiriel said as he put his face in his hands.

'No, you won't. I have to admitt, we were all shocked. Aragorn said that he banished you because he didn't want you to get hurt because he loves you.' Boromir said. 'My brother has covered up for me alot, because he loves me. But in return for that. My father isn't the greatest to him.'

'Elly, Boromir, do you have any stories?' Frodo asked.

'What do you mean, young one?' Boromir asked.

'Stories from the past or from your lives.' Pipin said coming up from behind him.

'We don't know much about what happenes outside the shire. We would like to know more.' Merry said joining the group.

'I apologize for what I said earlier, Frodo. I need to use my head alittle more.' Eldiriel said. 'Would you like to know somethings Leggy did in his youth?'

'Are they embarrassing?' Pipin asked.

'I can think of a few.' Eldiriel smiled wickedly.

'Spill!' Merry laughed.
