I remember the first time I saw you
looking back at me from that
mirror, in the bathroom.
You
smiled a smirk, a how do you do
back at me,
surprised that I finally saw you
hidden in there.
That was when I touched our face
and then you smiled, giggled a
child's christmas morning laugh at me
I saw the eyes, the lines, the everything
and you just laughed at me.
You wanted to run out of that mirror
and dance happy boy cirlces
with me around the world
But
you saw that I was scared
that I didn't quite know
what I was seeing
You cocked your head to the side
"hey there kid, I'm the best thing ever did happen to you"
I smiled at your arrogance
I'd soon embrace it as my armor.
I turned to leave the bathroom
but you whispered at me
"hey, glad to finally meet me?"
of course, says me, been looking at you
my entire life.
