this  weeks  album, reviewed by bryce:

I first heard of darkest hour through a friend, so i decided to check them out.  i first heard "A Blessing In Tragedy" and I was blown away.
Darkest Hour flawlessly intertwines the dynamics of metal and hardcore to form a very distinguishing style.  They've shown a lot of maturing from their earlier release, "The Prophecy Fulfilled" and they're sure to soon climb their way to the top of the metal-core ladder..  To describe their music, I'd say that Darkest Hour is Bill & Ted meet Earth Crisis.  I also strongly recommend their newest release, "So Sedated, So Secure" on Victory Records.  They have quickly become one of the most-listened-to bands and I'm very much looking forward to a live performance.
For an mp3 recommendation, I'd say "For The Soul Of The Savior" or "The Legacy".
above all:  Go buy their cd's, learn the lyrics, and go see them live, and I'm sure I'll be receiving "thank yous" via e-mail.

previouse reviews:

Poison The Well - "The Opposite Of December"
Poison the Well combines the best parts of emo, hardcore, and metal into their own unique sound that anyone will love.  With an ever-changing line up, Poison the Well continues to evolve musically from their previous release "Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder" with vocals ranging from throaty screams to nicely sung serenades, and guitar/double-kick combos, Poison the Well Will soon become one of your favorite bands.  Some musical masterpieces are "Nerdy", "My Mirror No Longer Reflects", and "Artists Rendering Of Me".
above all: This album wont leave the CD  player, it's got something for everyone.

Thursday - "Full Collapse"
Thursday is a five-man band hailing from New Brunswick, New Jersey.  this is there second full length release, and it is there first release on victory records.
This album has ingenuity and creativity written all over it.  It mixes light not so aggressive  guitars, with somewhat intense hardcore background vocals.  it's not so much the standard hardcore sound, but don't let this keep you from this album.  It shows a rather creative mix of style, and passion.  There well structured songs are catchy but not repetitive.  Showing very strong continuity and structure.  Armed with guitars that can be sharp to the point but help the music keep it's natural flow, along with a soft yet noticeable bass line, and very well orchestrated drumming makes Thursday a precise and well put together band.  a few musical masterpieces would have to be "Understanding In A Car Crash", "A Whole In The World" and "Cross Out The Eyes".
above all:  This album shows great progress in the bands maturity level.  It definitely displays a high level of creativity.  In my opinion Thursday is definately heading in the right direction.  That direction, progress.
