Commodore 64 Computer.
 

The ultimate machine of the 80s, the CBM64 was around at the same time as the SINCLAIR Spectrum, although having superior
sound graphics and a proper keyboard they shared the market 50/50. I owned both of these machines and each had there own
special features that made them what they were.

This was considered the last "full" release of this emulator, all the way back in 1997. Beta version V2.0 is still under development and is ocassionally updated for both DOS and Windows. This is probably one of the most complete C64 emulators available, but is also shareware.

This is one of the newer C64 emulation projects in development, and is an open source project. This emulator includes sound support, and unlike a lot of other C64 emulators, this is freeware.

This is a C64 emulator for Linux, written in 100% x86 assembly. Source code, demo disk images and related text documents are also available for downloading from the website. While there are still many things to do, new features in this release include: faster than ec64-0.05, now supports 4bpp (you can use vga16fb) & bootdisk available.

VICE is a Versatile Commodore Emulator, i.e. a program that runs on a Unix, MS-DOS, Windows, OS/2 or RiscOS machines and executes programs intended for the old 8-bit Commodore computers. The current version emulates the C64, the C128, the VIC20, all the PET models (except the SuperPET 9000, which is out of line anyway) and the CBM-II (aka C610).
