I believe time travel is possible but useless. If we were to make a machine that could travel in time most likely is size would be tremendous. There would be too many risks and not much gain. There’s to many holes in how it would work and how it would be possible. Besides it would take too many people to run the machine. There are a lot of things to think about how it would work for instance.
if the time machine is made out of new material and uses our modern technology would the time machine disappear once it goes back in time? or if you went to the future would it rust? What about the person inside the time machine? Would they start getting older or younger while traveling in time? Suddenly they’re a fetus or a 100-year-old hag. There would have to be some type of mechanism that kept them in the same age. Maybe if you were able to get absolute zero on the Kelvin scale but so far no one has done that they have only gotten close (hey a science lesson)
how can you really be sure that the time machine will take you with it. If it didn't and just left you there and someone from the past found it. Would they be credited with having created the first time machine? This is assuming they find out what it is and how to work it. Imagine historians saying that first time machine was created by Neanderthals.
the main purpose for the time machine would be to change the past or to see into the future. What if it does work but you can’t change the past. For example you go back in time and stop someone from being shot just to have him or her gets run over by a truck 5 seconds later. Or if you went to the future and knew the world would be destroyed by, let’s say...a nuclear war. You came back to your own time and it succeeded. Except that not much later an alien, with a head shaped like new jersey, came and rolled mars around earth and squished everyone to death.
how would the actual time travel work. Most of the time it’s portrayed as the world spinning really fast backwards. Wouldn’t this make the whole planet explode and maybe the whole universe, or at lest make us all extremely dizzy. If it were possible to do this without getting severely injured exactly how could you? Think about it how are you not gonna get thrown off the planet you on top of it while its spinning like crazy.
while the planet is spinning back to the future and you were originally at imperial the world would continue spinning, back or to the future. When it stopped (this is assuming you haven't been thrown off by the force) would you still be in imperial or smack dab in the middle of the Atlantic ocean.
this is how I think/envision time travel would be. In other words a big pointless mess. Even though it doesn't seem like I believe in it, I do. In conclusion (ohh me smart me say big word) *sarcasm* its most likely that the time machine wont be created for many more years and by then some alien race will have destroyed us all.
