Xander is a bit of strange character, at school he is a social outcast although he does date Cordelia for a while. He is Willow's best friend and he has a thing for Buffy, but she isn't interested in him that way. Although he has no powers to be speak of, he does help Buffy out in a big way, by dusting the odd vampire. He also does a lot of the research into whatever demon is threatening to destroy the world.
