Once a member of an elite cadre of demon hunters, he betrayed them by not killing his target, the Tainted girl Alice. She used her powers to show him her soul, that of someone who although Tainted, was not evil. This was not as he expected, as all his life he had been taught the evil of the Tainted, and how they must all be destroyed. After failing his mission and rescuing Alice into the hands of Gateway, he is now hunted by his former partner, and lover.
