When Obsidian saved Alice, he did so alone. But before he was
cast out of the Order there were others who began to understand the nature
of the Tainted.
Drake saw too that not all Tainted were evil, and worked against the Order
from within to orchestrate the rescue of Corona and to bring her to the human
plane.
