KB (kilobyte)
1,024 bytes. Sometimes abbreviated as k (lowercase), K-byte, K, or KB for
kilobyte and Kb for kilobit (1,024 bits). When in doubt about whether an
abbreviation refers to kilobytes or kilobits, it's probably kilobytes, with
these exceptions: the speed of a modem (as in 2.4 kilobits per second) and the
transfer rate of a floppy disk (as in 500 kilobits per second).
KBps (Kilobytes per second) A performance measure used for mass storage
devices and memory systems.
Kbit (Kilobit) A unit of measure consisting of 1000 bits. The unit often used
in expressions of data transmission capacity.
Kernel mode A Windows NT "privileged" processing mode
that has access to hardware components.
Keyboard A common input device through which data and instructions may be typed
into computer memory.
Keys Setting names of the Windows 95 registry.
KiB (Kibibyte) A unit of measure consisting of 1024 bytes. One of the names
and symbols for prefixes for binary multiples for use in the fields of data processing
and data transmission approved as an IEC International Standard in December
1998. See also MiB, GiB and TiB.
