About me
My name is Mohamed Farouk
Abdelwahed. I was born on December 28th 1968. in
Cairo, Egypt. In my childhood i was very
attracted with the computer and electronic
devices. During this period (preparatory school)
I observed the earlier computers types that
named "Sinclair" and "Commodore". in the
beginning, it used Commodore for playing games.
then the idea comes to know how this games was
done. I started my course in Basic languages. I
spent many times in basic programming in
Commodore using our old TV.In high school, i
start my beloved hobby which is Electronics. One
magazine drops in my hand showing a kit for an
electronic circuit for a flash light. I did it
!! and i that was my beginning in this domain. i
start collecting books and magazines that
publish electronic kits where i can assemble its
components to make a primitive circuits of
radio, alarms, counters and so.. From time to
time my love to this hobby increases, I spent
all my money in that time (unlike other boy) to
buy resistors, capacitors and so. I graduated
from faculty of science, Cairo University 1991.
I was specified in geophysics (don't be
surprised, this is our system). I worked in the
National Research Institute of Astronomy and
Geophysics (NRIAG) as seismology researcher in
1992. During this year a big earthquake occurred
in Egypt which took the attraction of
geophysists to work in this domain. During my
work in NRIAG, I finished my Master study in
seismology but still give time to my hobbies. I
went to Japan 2002 for my Ph.D. study. I spent
there 5 years. From this period until now, my
knowledge of Electronic and computer increases.
I was specified in visual Fortran languages
where i wrote big Windows projects helping my
seismology study. In addition, i made some
electronic circuits of my own as digital RPM for
my car and a digital counter. nowadays i entered
the world of robotics where i start the
microcontrollers programming a project to
construct a unique robot of multitask functions.
however this needs a lot of time that i can not
find after i married and got 4 Childs!!!.
Programming
My first programming steps
were, as with most kids, taken on a Commodore
computer, first in Basic. I first met Fortran on
my job - that was the sole language my
colleagues, faculty professors, were familiar
with, and I was forced to study it. Soon I got
interested for WATFOR, Fortran 90 features from
MS Fortran PowerStation until the brilliant
Compaq Visual Fortran compiler comes to my
hands. Soon I start the QuickWin, projects then
the Win32 application, all using only Fortran.
This compiler teaches me a lot and has the favor
to make my successful programs. I have written
Sgraph, Tomotools, Checkertools, and many others
programs.
