Robot Name - Agent Schmidt
Competition Name - FIRST Frenzy: Raising the Bar
Event Attending - Southern California Regional
Competition Outline - This year's game, "Raising the Bar", requires all robots on the field to first
search for balls placed on sensitive pads. We can use dead reckoning, line tracking, and now Infrared (IR)
sensing to find these balls. As soon as a ball is knocked off of it's post, 18 balls will be dropped onto the
side of the field where a ball was removed. Robots must scoop these balls and drop them into a zone where a
human player will pick them up and shoot them at one of four goals on the field, one stationary goal on each
side of the field, and two smaller movable goals. Three large 2x multiplier balls are located on the field,
and if a goal with balls in it is capped with a large ball, the score for those balls is doubled. Each of the
released balls are worth 5 points, and the four balls on the IR posts are worth 10 points each. At any point
in the match, a robot can make it's way onto a 6" narrow raised platform and hang off of a 10' bar. If a robot
is off the ground and hanging on the bar at the end of the game, 50 extra points are added to that alliance's
score.
