TEAM NEWS:
July 29, 2004-Wow, I can't believe how long it's been since I updated this page. So far 2004 has been very busy for me, I have attended more competitions than ever, moved to Florida, and have been working on three brand new machines. D-Monic did very well at BBIQ, kicking some serious butt along the way. We won 6 fights and caused more damage than ever before. Not long after that I competed with my UK ant Little D-Mon at SWARC Ant Rebellion 8 and took 2nd. About a week later I brought Sephiroth and Little D-Mon out to Alabama (along with helping Casey with Mean Green Fightin' Machine) and managed to take 3rd in the UK ant division with Little D-Mon. About 2 weeks later I entered Little D-Mon and a last second ant called The Thing in Dan's Dallas Area Robot Fights (DARF) event and Little D-Mon took 1st in the UK division. Last saturday I competed with Sephiroth at Stuart Small Bots of Mass Destruction (my first Florida event) and managed to win 3 fights. All of the bot sections, along with the new bots in the works, will be updated.
December 31, 2003-Added an update to the D-Monic IV section. Construction has started on the bot and we hope to have it ready with plenty of time to test it before Battlebots IQ in April.
September 13, 2003-D-Monic IV section is up, along with the beginings of a build report on the bot. Unfortunatly there has been no physical progress on the bot, so it's all CAD for now.
August 30th, 2003-I added a new section with some Solidworks E-Drawings. I also deleted the "stuff" and "the name" sections to make room for more cool stuff (like maybe a middleweight build report.)
July 30th, 2003-I updated the Duct Tape D-Mon Build Report page with info from SWARC Ant Rebellion IV.
May 26th, 2003-My new ant, Sephiroth's section is up.
April 11th, 2003-D-Monic III section is up!
Updates for Duct Tape D-mon and D-Monic II, check it out!
January 23rd, 2003-What a few months. My new antweight Duct Tape D-Mon (the new frugal version made from a Battlebots R/C toy, metal from the original D-Monic, and lots of duct tape) won the first SWARC ( http://www.swarc.org) Ant Rebelion on December 14th. I am currently prepping Duct Tape D-Mon and my new ant Stupid Inflatable Pants for the SWARC Ant Rebelion II on February 18th. I am also trying to build a British Antweight (150 grams) called Little D-Mon for SWARC and a 12lb bot called Small D-Stroyer for Robojoust.
Noverber 19th, 2002-THE MONSTER LIVES! Today we cranked up D-Monic for a test drive. It works. Unfortunatly the test was cut short by the end of 3rd period (Thanks to Mr. Rice for letting me build the bot in his shop and giving me free metal) and the 9-volt running the IFI got thrown off of the bot by the power of our not-so-shinney-anymore NPC's. The good news is we now know that the motors can throw the bot (around 75lbs now) and Casey's arse. Now all we have to do is rewire the bot so the IFI and Victors aren't sitting on top of the batteries, and put in the Hella switch, EV Warriors, Weapon, and armor. Hopefully this is as easy said as done.
October 14th, 2002-I added a page for my antweight, Duct Tape D-mon. A D-Monic II build report will be put up soon. Be sure to check out The Team Turf website. This site belongs to my friend Casey, who was the main reason that we actually finished D-Monic. He knows what he's doing and is building a mean middleweight invertible spinner called the Mean Green Fightin' Machine. He is sponsored by RSG and would like to remind you that his Turf will kick your grass.
September FRIDAY the 13th, 2002-My friend has just officialy launched his new team, Team Turf. He is building a light or middleweight invertible spinner. Today we began cutting the peices for his octogonal frame in metal shop. He will soon be posting either his own page or a section on the Team Cerberus page. With Battlebots postponed indefinetly, he will have a lot of time on his hands (he wanted to be done for May, so that looks pretty good right now). He would also like to give a shout out to his awesome sponsor RSG-Robotic Sporting Goods . They sponsored him with a dual motor controler.
September 11, 2002-D-Monic is now pretty much put together. He neeeds some more rewireing before he gets his new armor. Last Saturday I when to a SWARC meting and saw a great demonstration from the bot Dark 44, who was suposed to go to Battlebots in November, but that event is no more. I will post some pic soon, but Spanish and History homework along with drivers ed is really getting in the way.
August 22, 2002-Ok, D-Monic's fate has been decided. He will now be a spinner, Nightmare style. Once I pass my test on using the cutting torch at school I will cut the blade and the teeth. (The only problem is I can't make sharp teeth because it's at school. The blade will have somewhere between 2 and 4 horsepower. I think thats pretty good for a Middleweight. I'll post pictures of "D" as he is built.
August 10, 2002- I messed up and didn't copy this update from the main page and saved over it, but basically this update said that we made a prototype for D-Monic's new drive train called Bot in a Box", but due to the floor of the box being too thick, the lack of one of our SLA batteries (we were running them at 1/2 voltage), and a lack of a caster, the test was a failure.
August 07, 2002-Yay! I got my NPC's today! Some robots are about to die!
August 01, 2002-Well, our NPC's are going to be sent tomorrow. Now all we will need for the new D-Monic is a ton of Lexan, some aluminum, a Magmotor/Black Max/couple EV Warriors, the new weapon/weapon mount and a new speed controler. Gotta start buying those Lotto tickets! I will probably start posting build reports for the new D-Monic soon. I am also building a Mini-Sumo robot for a tournament that DPRG is holding in October (that is if I am able to modify the servos I got with a pair of wire cutters and an old pocket knife). One of Team Cerberus's members may also be able to actually build a SOZBOT and keep it together long enough to compete with soon.
June 30, 2002-I just wanted to update this site to see our site posted on the Most Recently Updated Sites list on robotcombat.com . I'm so happy our sites finaly listed on that really cool database!
June 14, 2002-If you havn't noticed, the sites main page has been completely redone. I am trying to organize this site better, but it is going to take a while.
June 13, 2002-The new links section is up. This links page contains only bots from IQ. The final designs for D-Monic 2.0 are falling into place, we hope to be able to battle test it before the tournament this time.
Ok, hopefully we will be getting our new NPC motors soon. We have officially given up on chain drives. If I can get a job this summer we might be able to get some titanium, if not we will go for lexan. D-Monic will be back better than ever. We also have some more news. Casey will be attempting to build another middleweight for the big Battlebots. If he can pull that off, who knows what other robotic creations will come from our team.
Wow! BBIQ was a blast. We are already getting supplies for D-Monic's rebirth, like lexan armor and NPC's. I will try to post some pics from the event soon, but I don't have a lot of non-battle pics (I can't post those).
