history
started playing music at age 8, on, yes, the recorder.
have played a bunch of other instruments since then in
many different styles, from classical, to jazz, to rock.
i originally became interested in eletronica during a trip
to europe. i still remember buying my first Prodigy tape
at a bus stop in bulgaria. i later travelled to Goa, where
that special flavor of trance sealed my fate as a beat-junkie.
in late '98, i bought a synthesizer, and have been making
music since. i've been on mp3.com since november '99; this
site's been up since february 2000. rather new. welcome.
gear
i use an Alesis qs6.1 and a Novation Nova for the bulk of my sound generation. other sources
include samples from cds & radio and the Rebirth virtual analog
synth. i/o from my AMD K6 workstation is via M-Audio's
Delta-66 card (which has a sweet dynamic range). sequencers
i use are Cubasis VST and Cakewalk; Soundforge for processing;
and Diamond Cut for compression. did you really want to know
all that?
other stuff
so i guess i'll write a little about me. i work for a company called arsDigita
at their Berkeley office, doing computer stuff... the bay area is excellent, it keeps me alive and sane
most of the time. my interests beside music
include travel, sailing, photography, and alcohol. if you live in a
foreign country, send me a postcard and i will come visit you bringing
coca-cola and nike shoes and various other american paraphanelia. oh, and one last thing.
since you made it this far, i'll let you in on a secret: dj camelback is only in
your mind. see you in your hometown, in your favorite club, piss drunk. peace.
