UNIA-ACL PROCLAMATION
OF AMNESTY & UNIFICATION

GREETINGS TO ALL YOU NOBLE MEMBERS OF THE RACE:

WHEREAS, the lawfully authorized corporate body of the UNIA, Inc, established in New York in 1918 by Marcus Garvey (et al) and the UNIA-ACL August 1929 of the World, Inc., established in Cleveland, Ohio, and also founded by The Honorable Marcus Garvey (et al) have reckoned upon the anvil of reason in order to negotiate a settlement of our past disputes; and,

WHEREAS, from our humble beginnings there emerged countless Divisions, Chapters, Auxiliaries, Societies, Orders, Spiritual Denominations, Corporations, Committees, and all manner of Splinter Groups; and,

WHEREAS, we have come to understand the historical problems encountered by the UNIA over the course of time resulting from inadequate financial management and an inability to yield to proper authority, today we expound reconciliation through forgiveness of past wrongs, and seek an amicable resolution of all past and present disputes by learning from our mistakes and leaving the ills of the past behind us; and,

WHEREAS, based upon the ideal that we must move into the future as honorable and decent people having sound economic and business practices in our global endeavor to redeem and uplift the African peoples of the world; and,

WHEREAS, on August 9, 2007, in a committed effort to resolve all differences and restore ourselves under one united jurisdiction, an agreement was duly signed and sealed;

Therefore,

BY WAY OF EXECUTIVE ORDER WE ISSUE THE FOREGOING PROCLAMATION:

HENCEFORTH GRANTING A PERIOD OF AMNESTY TO ALL PAST OR CURRENT MEMBERS AND ENTITIES TO RESTORE THEMSELVES WITHIN THE RANKS OF THE GREAT ASSOCIATION, TO POOL OUR HUMAN AND FINANCIAL RESOURCES IN AN EFFORT TO FURTHER OUR COLLECTIVE AIMS, AND, TO EQUALLY UPHOLD, PROTECT, AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION IN RESOLUTION OF ALL FUTURE MATTERS.
