Mega Man X: The Battle of The Stars X circled the seemingly abandonded space-station. Yet over the last few days, the station has been sending out strange distress calls, yet no-one was supposed to be on the space station for years! X circled once more, then called Zero. "Zero here. What's up, X?" "Zero, can you beam yourself up to the old Vega Station? I'll send you the co-ordinates." "Can do. I'll be up in a second." X pulled his ship into the docking bay of the station. He hopped out and lokked around. "Hmm. Seems okay. I'll look around anyway." Just then Zero beamed into the docking bay. "What's this about, X? Command just gave me a mission." "I know. But it's always good to have some backup around." "Okay, X." Zero took the lead, pulling out his Beam Saber, just in case. X fired up his X-Buster and charged it slightly. He wasn't expecting trouble, but it never hurts to be prepared. Zero rounded the next corner. Suddenly he stopped. He craned his neck around the next corner. He brought it back quickly. "X, the main computer's on. It looks like it's sending out orders to something. It keeps blinking in the same pattern." "Let me see." X walked over past Zero and looked around the corner. He too quickly ducked back. He looked scared. "What is it? What did you see?" "That's the Vega's main computer. It's hooked up to 2 nuclear war-heads. I believe that the computer is sending the missles targeting co-ordinates." "How do you know that?" "Because the screen shows two different crosshairs! One pointing at our home base! The other is pointed at..." X looked around the corner again. "...the other isn't going anywhere. It's pointed at this station!" "Why would the computer do that?" "Who the hell was that?", shouted Zero. "Show yourself!" X looked back around the corner. The computer was now blinking at random, and very, very fast! X walked up to the computer. "Who are you? What are you?" The screen changed now. It turned into two different faces: one was Vile's, the other was Sigma's. "How did you survive? Zero and I destroyed you!" Zero walked up to the computer too. He looked at it. "X, why haven't you blown this up yet? Let me!" Zero's Beam Saber came down hard on the console, cutting the computer in half. Zero stood up, a look of happiness on his face. He started laughing. "What could possibly be funny about that?" "Nothing. But I think that we may never be rid of Sigma. He keeps changing. He's getting smaller and smaller." Just then a huge Battle Suit walked around the corner. It was a new Sigma. Zero turned and attacked Sigma. Sigma blocked the attack and punched Zero. He went flying back down the main corridor, only stopping because of some metal cannisters some 100 feet away. Zero groaned on the ground. His armor was severly dented. X engaged his Dash System and rushed over to Zero. "Holy shit he's strong. Watch out X." "I think we should engage that nuke. The one pointed at the station." "WHAT?! X, are you sure about that?" "We have to Zero. Sigma must be destroyed." "I'll distract him while you get to the controls." "No Zero. I'll distract him. You're hurt, remember?" X points at Zero's dented armor. "Oh yeah. Fine then, let's go!" Zero dashed over past Sigma while X fired a charged shot at Sigma's head. Sigma turned and opened fire on X with several large shots. X ducked behind some old metal cannisters and equiped his Hyper Upgrade. He then fired all the shots he had until the energy ran out. When he looked again, Sigma was nowhere to be seen. The entire wall he had been standing in front of was black and burned, with huge holes in it. X suddenly heard a humming sound. He leapt into the air just as a huge blast scorched the ground beneath him. X whirled in the air and fired off his X Buster at Sigma's head. Sigma was hit by the shots and he fell backwards towards the landing bay. Sigma stood up just as Zero had finished with the warhead's path. He yelled over to X. "X, the missles set! Let's get out of here!" "Let's take care of Sigma first!!" Zero threw his Beam Saber at Sigma's leg. It connected and cut Sigma off at the knee. He went down and lay there. X and Zero made their way over to the space shuttle. Then X looked back. X turned and started running again. When he reached the shuttle, he looked out into space. He saw a bright "thing" moving towards the planet. Then it started to curve back towards the station. "Zero, let's move NOW!" "Alright, I'm beaming down to base. See you there X." Zero beamed out of the station and down to Earth. X activated his shuttle and flew it into space. He started heading down towards Earth. He looked back at the space station just as it exploded in a nuclear blast. The blast was so bright, X looked away and shut his eyes. The yellow-green blast evaporated the station completely. The shockwave started heading towards X. "Shit! I should have left earlier!" NO!!"" The shockwave hit X and sent his shuttle into a flat spin. X fought for the controls but he couldn't seem to regain them. He fell towards the planet. "I've got to get out of here!" X popped open the hatch on the pod. Cold space welcomed him and he punched in the co-ordinates for Home Base. He instantly beamed down to Maverick Hunter HQ. Zero greeted him. "Why did you beam down? You had the space ship, didn't you?" "Yeah, but I had some trouble." X pointed to the giant shockwave in space. "Oh. Well, it's good to have you back." Just then X's shuttle crashed into the ground, or what was left of it. X and Zero rushed over to it. "Wow. There's not much left here." "No, there's not. The blast really did a number on this." They walked away, not noticing the hand hanging on the lower side of the shuttle, or the little orange slime oozing out of the bottom of the hand. It made it's way away from the Maverrick Hunter HQ....
