Varadia was born on Ninieth 19. She lived with her mother and father until he father fell ill and died. Sometime later, her mother, Marina, remarried. Varadia, her mother, and her stepfather, Kedaliseth, moved to the town of Uneraveth. This marriage resulted in two children, Tryphena and Jerorejar. When Varadia reached 19, she moved out of her home. She had decided to to attend a collage in Quistis. Quistis was a floating city in Trilanna knwon for its excellence in science. And this is the city in which set and begin our story...
The rainbow city. The famed floating city of Trilanna. All of these names referred to her new home. Her beloved Quistis. Varadia slung her bag onto her shoulder, picked up her other bag, and headed through the pearlly gates. Behind her was immigration, and before her was rose great buildings constructed of opal and walkways lined with gardens. She looked down at the map the school had sent her and started walking. Since she had not looked up, she walked right into a young man about her age. He had brown hair which reached to his shoulders and he was dressed in jeans, a poofy white shirt, and a green vest. He looked stunned.
"I'm sorry. Please excuse me," Varadia apologized.
"It's quite alright," the young man replied smiling. He held out his hand and introduced himself, "My name is Daror... And you are?"
"Varadia."
"Varadia... a lovely name. Nice to meet you." Daror said. A silence descended on them and Varadia adjusted the strap of her bag. Daror looked around and then examined his new acquaintance. Varadia had long red hair which was slightly crimped and sparkling blue eyes. She was dressed in a long flowing purple dress, which, Daror thought matched the city's atmosphere perfectly.
After a bit, Varadia asked, "Do you happen to know where this school is?" and showed him the map she was holding.
He looked at the map and then replied, "I can show you the way. It will be my kind act for the day. Saving a beautiful damsel in distress."
Daror escorted her to the grounds of the university. Along the way, Daror and Varadia had talked about what Daror had been doing in Quistis and what she wanted to do. Daror attended a music based school in Northern Quistis. He was a drummer and was interested in traveling the world.
In the months that followed, they got to know each other better. During this time, Varadia also got to know some of his friends. They included Elric Elvenbane, Vincent Dawson, Driam Graf, Pynd Erirewyr, and Celadus Chyth. She got to know them better as well. She was rather interested in Daror and Elric, and when Elric asked her out...
They were walking by Angel Tear Pond. In the evening light, it shimmered with pale pinks, purples, greens, and blues. The sky glowed orange and pink with the setting sun and the fluffy white clouds were edged in orange, pink, and purple. The air was cool and there was a slight breeze. Elric lead Varadia under a nearby cherry willow. The willow was in full bloom wit beautiful tiny pink flowers. Some flowers littered the ground.
