Dive Live-aboard
Dive Live-aboard to Similan and Surin Islands

Dunc and I decided that after almost a year of working hard in Thailand that we deserved a treat! To treat ourselves we booked places on a 4 day live-aboard diving trip to the fantastic Similan and Surin Islands. We had an absolutely fantastic time and loved every minute of it! We saw loads of amazing stuff, including manta rays (absolutely unbelievable!). However as we didn't have a waterproof camera, we don't really have many pictures of world under the waves. Here are some from above the sea, you will just have to use your imagination!
The sleeping area onboard
This was our sleeping accomodation while onboard. This little corridor slept about 10 people.
The deck/lounge
This was one of the two main relaxation decks on board, and was where we all ate and had our dive briefings.
The dive area
This is where the dive equipment was stored and where we got kitted up for exploring the big blue
Side walkway
This little walk way takes you round to the front area of the boat, and the railings here served as a drying line for towels, etc
A typical dive briefing
Before every dive we had a dive briefing from one of the dive leaders, detailing the conditions, the layout, and what interesting stuff we should be looking for
Practicing Dive Signals
Knowing your dive sign/signals can save your life, so it worth practicing them whenever you can!
Dunc studying
Here you see Dunc in his natural habit of serious studying. Study here beats studying in the library in Aberdeen!
