Figure 5.7. The treble part of this figure is identical to that of figure 5.4. To visualize this figure we need to think from 100 kHz downward in frequency. The 5 lines start out far apart and get closer together as the frequency comes down. The lines don't cross or touch until they all merge together. The lines merge into a single line at 1200 Hz. At 1000 Hz they start to spread apart again. Although all 5 lines are visible the spreading isn't very much. Either the lines are touching or the dark space between them is less than the width of one of the colored lines. The maximum amount of spreading might be as much as 1 dB, maybe a little more. The bottom to top order has been reversed. The lines merge back into a single line at 120 Hz and continue as one, down to 10 Hz. End verbal description.
