Reading color codes is decidedly a sighted activity. However there may come a time when you are working with sighted help who knows nothing about reading color codes. The purpose of this description is to give you enough knowledge so you can interpret the information you are getting from your sighted helper. The drawing shows a cylindrical resistor with a leed coming out of each end. There are four bands going all the way around the cylinder. The bands are much closer to one end than to the other. Starting at the end to which the bands are closest they are labeled A, B, C, and a percent sign. The text should make it clear how to read the color bands.
