Marine Corps Infantry Regiment Mission:
To locate, close with, and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver, or to repel his assault by fire and close combat.
To execute expeditionary assault operations and other combat operations as directed, supported by marine aviation, force service support units, and other supporting forces.
To participate as the supporting air component of Fleet Marine Forces in the seizure and defense of advance naval bases and for the conduct of such land operations as may be essential to the prosecution of a naval campaign.
To participate as an integral component of naval aviation in the execution of Navy functions as the fleet commanders direct.
