ALL MY MONEY PITS..

1986 Ford Ranger 2.9EFI V6 A4

This was my second vehicle. My first was also an 86' Ranger but blue in color and had NO frills. It was just basic transportation and that was it. I must say it was the funnest vehicle I have ever owned. And it didn't cost much at all for repairs. A tranny cross-member is all I put in it. It was bent because I jumped over a LARGE log and it fetched up on the crossmember and sat there like a teeter todder..HA! My Bro.in law(buddy then)tried to push it off but it just rocked up and down. We had to get a back-hoe to pull it off. HA! Those were the days.
As you can see this ranger recieved some modification.I tinted all the windows, put on 4 chrome rims,a box liner,a tail net,a bugger on the hood,"chrome" trim,225/60/15 rubber, driving lights,"dual" exhaust and of course a pioneer sound system. And to render the extended part of the cab useles I threw in 2 of my house speakers equiped with 10" subs and the boxes had 4" bass ports..it sounded...nice. :)

THE MONEY PIT!!.

1989 Chrysler LeBarron 2.5L Turbo1 EFI A3

Ahh yes theee..money pit.I just went nuts when I saw this hot rod for the first time! I test drove it 4 times before I bought it. It had 120,000KM on it and the interior/exterior was MINT! At first I didn't even know what it was! HA! I thought it was a Thunderbird or something when I saw the front end. I knew that it had good power but on one of my many test drives I pushed the gas 2/3 of the way and when it brought the smoke off of the tires at the intersection..I BOUGHT IT. This bright red bullet snagged me 2 warnings and 3 fines in no time!! I had no idea the police were so thick! But at 200,000+KM the ol' has calmed down SEVERELY and has been practially rebuilt from bumper to bumper. Rebuilt engine, new fly wheel, 2 new heads, tranny(it was a dud tho),front end(got smashed and was repaired),complete body and paint job,new rotors and exhaust...ETC..ETC,ON AND ON WE COULD GO. I am currently replacing the 2.5L Turbo engine and tranny with a 2.2L Turbo engine and ANOTHER tranny...will it ever end? I love this car for some dumb reason and will never sell it. Maybe the fact that this little 4 cylinder automatic sends 5.0L Mustang GT owners home crying to their mommy has something to do with it..that and that its plain sharp.

I Also had an 89'Ford("The Tank")Tempo I got for $500..a 4 cyl 2.3L 5-Speed. And it had four doors and four wheels..that was my,go to work beater. It run VERY faithful for a couple years until the back end rotted out and the wheel fell off. It died at a ripe old age of 425,000+KM. It now rests in the bushes out back.

I now have..err.. a 94'Tempo..same thing as above but automatic and it came with only 94,000KM on it and mint inside and out. Nice working machine.

I also had a 93'GMC Sonoma. Its a 2.5L 4 cyl,5-speed. It was a clean, neat little truck with next to no rust. But only getting 26MPG made it a poor vehicle of choice for my daily 168KM+ round trip drive to work. I sold it.

The NEXT contestant..a 93 Suzuki Swift GL. Its got a 95HP 1.6L engine and a 5 speed.. gets over 40Mpg..ahh.. cheap, quick transportation. Just dosent get any better than that.
