Background: As an 11 year old computer genius and hacker, Joshua broke the code on four seperate NRC computers on three different occasions, prompting his arrest and trial for illegal computer activities, including illegal use of a computer network. Afterbeing restricted from computers until he was 16 and having spent some time in juvenile hall, despite being a minor, he emancipated himself from his step-father (mom died from cancer) and moved away. He started his own computer programming company and made a good living but wasnt happy with having to work at his 'love' of computers. He applied to the FBI academy but was declined due to his previous criminal activity (even though the records were sealed as a juvenile offense). A sympathetic agent had him hired as a Strategic Network Computer Administrator for the region covering New Mexico and Arizona.(who better to guard the henhouse than the fox? was the theory.) Skills/talents: Can program on the fly, given a short amount of time. Has numerous contacts in the computer underground, even attending the annual 2600 hacker convention in Vegas several years in a row. Has basic firearms training and an extensive collection of information regarding the 'X-Files' investigations of the FBI. Also has several back doors into different govt mainframes including his 'assigned' access. Electronics knowledge so he can put together a computer but is more familiar with programming than with building them. Strengths/Weaknesses: His strengths are his resolve to be the greatest hacker ever ("Why work from the outside when you are already in the system?") and wants to be able to protect his region from any outside attack, to pre-empt a hacker attempt by hacking the hackers. His weaknesses are his confidence in his abilities (he's lost a step or two sitting behind a desk all day), his need for caffeine (ah luv that Dew!!) and a thing for redheads. He wants to make a good impression but isnt really serious about whats going on. Goes by the hacker nickname 'The Grassy Mole' since he also has an interest in conspiracies and the supernatural.
