Background:Has lived on the Reservation his whole life except when he did a tour in the army during WW II as a code talker in the South Pacific. He is proud of his service but, hurt that nothing changed for his people after the war......Few know the important role they played in the war.....He has raised his grandchildren since the death of his son and daughter-in-law in a car accident 10 years ago..... He has raised them in the old ways and has been pleased with the people they have become...He worries about Walter more than Sara..His grandson seems a bit lost......torn between two worlds..... He was hoping this years pilgrimage into the mountains would show his grandson his path.... He has had the gift of sight since a very young age...he was taught by the previous Shaman, and took over that role when his mentor passed on...He has seen terrible things lately and he has seen the path that he and his grandchildren must take.....If his weak heart will last long enough, he may be able to help them survive...
