Full name:
Raven Pascal Curio

Why was she named Raven, a boy's name?  The origin of the Raven came to Diophantus in the form of an old Native American myth, when he had spent his brief period of time in America.

A priest brought four eggs to his people.  Two were a precious blue, and two were red like their Earth Mother.  He spoke to his people, and told them that two of these eggs fostered goodness inside them, and would always be with summer.  The other two eggs were from evil, and with them, winter would always follow.  The people were to choose their eggs, and the strongest had cried out for the blue, sure that they would be the eggs which would bear the birds of summer.  When the blue hatchlings had arrived, the strong people fed them all their most desirable food, still certain that these were the birds of summer.  However, when their feathers came, the turned black.  These were the Ravens, and they mocked and laughed at those who had taken care of them, before the flew away, leaving those people to forever be, the Winter People.
Birthday: March 15, 1980
Character age: 16
Character Personality:
Pascal is: Crude, blunt and cynical. Her life has not been good, and this girl does not wish others to be in a better mood than she is. She is most usually content playing what she considers to be "harmless" pranks on others. Is she evil? Perhaps, but maybe her malicious nature has to do with her problematic childhood. The word happy is non-existent in her vocabulary, and her world. She does not have friends, nor should she desire having any. She does make "advantageous" acquaintances, only with people who she knows will help her get along in life; those who will help her succeed. Those who she deems weak-minded are instantly placed upon a "hitlist" and it would be wise for them to stay out of her way.

Pascal seems to have developed the fine art of imitation and pretending. Early on in life the girl began to show the ability to quickly adapt to the idiosyncrasies and mannerisms of other people, in an attempt to mock them. She has begun to use this skill in order to place a fake mask in front of her, being able to imitate different accents, and act like someone completely new.

Her mind and psyche is all but impossible to infiltrate. She is extremely guarded with herself an no one knows too much about her. Rely solely on yourself. She often says nothing in a group of people, yet when she does, it is only with the intent to hurt and insult. Completely and utterly ruthless in her endeavors, she will do whatever it takes, whenever it takes, at all costs. Her morals have been completely corrupted.

Respect is only shown towards those who have a mind of their own, those who the girl knows not to mess around with. She has an eerie ability to sniff out uncertainty radiating from others, much like a shark sniffing out blood in the water. When it is found, this 'shark' will strike with the capability and willingness to crush her prey.
Character Background:
Pascal knows little of her own history, and what she does know, she cares very little to share. At the present, she lives with her godfather, related only by the sense of the word. The gentleman, known to her only as Diophantus, lives in a large, but decrepit mansion that is shielded on both sides of the estate by massive evergreen forests. His dwelling is situated far from the city, farther than Pascal would like, and though he doesn't treat her well, she has been raised with the mentality that she owes this gentleman something.

The girl never knew her parents, other than what was told to her. Her father was of Austrian origin, and was once a great wizard. He renounced magic after a traumatic event that killed his one true love, though this love was not to be Pascal's mother. Pascal was then told that her father spent the rest of his days in exile, dabbling in cities only until he rung up great debts, and then moved on, woman after woman, lifestyle after lifestyle.

Her mother was rumoured to be a dark witch so corrupted that she had resorted to prostitution as a living, thus bringing Pascal into the world after a one night stand with her father. This, Pascal was lead to believe, and this, she held in her heart with great shame and anger. It was Diophantus' relentless reminder to her of her origin that would keep this anger in the girl's being until it just about consumed her. The only pride she was allowed to keep, was the pride of her Austrian heritage. Sometimes that still wasn't enough.

Her own father had deserted her, and even her mother was repulsed by the sight of her. A few nights after Pascal was brought into the world as a screaming infant, she was left, nameless, at the doorstep of an old orphanage in one of the shadier areas of Austria. She would stay there only a few days, until she was move to yet another orphanage. As a baby, she was a terror, and it was this terror that would keep her on the move.

Pascal had been a nameless child, passed on in the orphanages in Austria until her 'godfather' Diophantus had come to claim her, and give her a name, at the age of four. Whether or not he was a dark wizard Pascal still has yet to figure out, but he was always sure that the girl was bound for magic. Colorado was his first choice upon leaving Europe, because of his having been there many years ago, when he had taken a tour of unknown reason through America. The mountains had left their beauty and majesty in his heart, and Diophantus longed to be there. Unbeknownst to Pascal, and still to this day, she would be the sole heir of his mysterious fortune.

Pascal grew up under the tutelage of Diophantus, and at the age of five, a year after she had been living with him as her guardian, he began to try and teach her magic. His first trials proved unsuccessful, but slowly and surely she began to learn, and began to show that she had inherited the magic from the veins of her father and mother. Diophantus was extremely hard on the girl, and made sure from the start that she would not grow up spoiled. She was given only what she deserved, and she deserved very little, according to him.

Perhaps Diophantus had thought Pascal needed more knowledge than some, and more often than not, he would be teaching her little charms and little tricks to get herself out of sticky situations, or just to make life more interesting. Unfortunately, Pascal often found herself unable to get out of sticky situations with Diophantus. He would never employ physical abuse on the girl, but his hexes were enough embarrassment for an influential child like herself. Many of her own hexes now, used on other students, were punishments she received from Diophantus. He always made sure to go into great detail about his charms as he bound her and jinxed her.

His first wish was for Pascal to attend Schiller, rather than Scattergood, but for some reason, at the reception of her letter during the summer, she was enrolled in Scattergoods. Pascal had thought for the whole summer that she would be going to Schiller, and had been convincing herself that her 'godfather' was indeed a Dark wizard. Her only gifts were a set of worn down robes, and an alley cat runt that Diophantus had stumbled upon, just clinging to life. Pascal's heart had strangely gone out to the animal, and Samson would become her only true friend at school. The rest of her school supplies would be purchased by her godfather, but in the form of pocket money that she would work hard for, to earn.
Wand: A delicately detailed juniper wand. It is quite flexible and bendy, with a few knobs on the length of the wand. It is just shy of fourteen inches, with a core of red dragon bone.
Animal: Pascal's only 'friend' is her animal, Samson. He is a sleek and athletic looking black cat, with extremely sharp claws. For the most part, he considers Pascal an equal, rather than his owner. If anything, he can boss her around. His eyes are a fierce green that pales in the dark, and his entire body is black, save for his front left paw, which is grey.
