WAR: a state of usu. open and declared armed hostile conflict between states or nations Websters Collegiate Dictionary

In a time when we have torn our nation apart on whether we should wage war or not we must look at everything that is going on. We must look into what we face and why we face it. This war is multifaceted we are fighting for oil, yes; humanitarianism, yes; freedom, yes; politics, yes; and terrorism. We are fighting to put an end to something left unfinished hopefully to put an end to a regime so terrible that we can't even begin to understand will out looking to our dark side. As Americans we are taught that by right of birth we can speak freely and that we can do as we please as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. It is through these rights that we must look past as we look into a world where we are the strangers where we were the freest and we must understand that we move the world with our united voice. We must not let a governing union such as NATO or the UN decide what is right in the world we are the UN and NATO. When we provide 50% of both manpower and money contributed to the UN should we not have the right to stand alone. Who are the nations who oppose us: Germany; France, Russia; and China. How much have we contributed to them with out us there would be no France and Russia. Are we not the ones who have built China with our hard earned money, and are we not the ones who lead the path for a modern Germany. I think that our foreign opposition hates us because of who we are not what we are doing they wish they had the power to move the earth, to change history. "History will be kind to me for I intend to write it." Winston Churchill
When everyone complains that we can't afford a war do they think we just throw away the money spent on the war. Were do you think the money spent goes, does it just fall from the sky in the form of bombs and destroy itself. No, that money comes back to us we make the bombs, we pay our soldiers to fight and we make the tools of their trade. War is one of our nation's most powerful economic tools. Do you think that all of the $379.3 billion budget is saved and hoarded by the pentagon, no it' spent moving people and the world to a place where we are not just the police of the world but the world.
Where are all you peace loving humanitarian aid people now, are you hiding behind antiwar signs because your scared that we may lose a couple thousand you men and women in the course of helping others out. We must look at the cost of everything in this war, is the life of a couple thousand American soldiers worth the hundreds of thousands of lives they saved by giving their lives. Me must stop and think about our actions and what the consequences are we are freeing a nation that has been terrorized by a man longer than I have lived. Does that fact alone not bother you, that there is a whole generation of Iraqis that has never know anything but the iron fist that Saddam has used to rule Iraq.
We are a nation that is spoiled rotten by our liberties and our rights. We are so spoiled that we have started to give them up for the sake of safety. That's how the mess begins, who do you think takes advantage of the weaknesses of our society. Those in power, those that believe that they know what is best for everyone are our brutuses. How can we let ourselves be pushed into little boxes for the sake of safety? Doesn't the rule of Stalin begin this way with no one being able to speak and everyone held suspect. Is not everyone we pass now not a suspect? How far must we take this ridiculous thought that we can be safe. The sky can fall at any moment and what then, do we crawl underground in a vain attempt to save ourselves? When a disease so common begins to kill us by the millions do we run and remove ourselves from the world it in habits? These things are all our faults when do we start to take responsibility for what we've done? We have nurtured nations to fight our wars with their children and they are the ones we now hunt and kill. "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."- Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759.
What no one wants to admit is that we are the evil in this world we are the terrorist we are the ones who have paved the road to hell. We as a nation have stood back for too long, we must be held responsible for the tragedies that we make. No longer can we isolate ourselves by the physical barriers that surround us, we a have made distance no existent in a world of technology. We stumble and the world shutters. We stand proud and the world sighs relief. With less than 6% of the population of this world we rule the world. It is time to look aback and acknowledge that we are here not because we wanted to be, but because the world didn't want us, we the people of this mixed evil county, with a Christian conscience, have brought the world to its knees. Our arrogance as a nation under god is preventing us from fixing what we have done. Let your god forgive you for our sins.
