Good Pets Are So Hard To Come By
Ordinarily reserved for only the most coveted of horses to serve as a brow band, N'Kari has taken his treatment of slaves as mere animals one step further. Converting the usual silk ribbon bands for horse to be suitable for one of his pet's necks, he has come to train his servants to learn to wear the collar with the instinct of a loyal animal as well. Some may find the transition from a servant with a measure of freedom and arrogance to a lifetime serving as a mere pet disturbing, but the reward of curling up into N'Kari's lap and being scratched behind the ear has been enough to tempt more than a few adventuring girls. Don't be surprised to be fed milk from a saucer one moment, and the next, have your cheek stung by his backhand. Nobody said serving N'Kari was easy, but they also never denied that there were plentiful rewards to draw them back into his chaotic life.

No Collar would be complete without the mark of the master upon it. In N'Kari's case, his emblem is a flaming blue and silver moon. At one time his sign was three crescent moons of three different gem colors, but this fell out of favor after N'Kari decided to let a part of his past die away. He called it a "spiritual revival" but others would have called it a psychotic episode, that resulted in the deaths of three of his garden's caretakers, thus their unease with him. Regardless of these events, he has adopted the burning moon in recognition of one of his few memories before the Victorian age. "Only when the Gods' have forgiven us our sins and there is an end to the burning moon will the madness end." These were the words of Seneca of ancient Rome, Teacher of Nero, the insane emperor.
