Neon Genesis Evangalion

It is set in the not so distant future where a company named NERV is defending the world against the "Angels". Angels are deadly monsters each with there own power sent from the heavens to see if humans are ready for the next step of evolution. the angels must come in contact with the first angel Adam the first human. when they do the third impact will occur destroying life on earth. the first impact was the thing that killed off the dinosaurs. second impact happened in the year 2000a.d. were 1/3 of the human population was wiped out. The ice caps have melted so half the world is under water. NERV have invented robot suits which must be piloted by teenager (children) named Eva's. There are three of them, Eva 00, 01 , and 02

The main character is a boy named Shinji Ikari, he is an insecure and shy sort of person and hardly knows his dad (the leader of NERV) and his mum died when he was young. He lives with Misato his teacher/boss/friend who also works at NERV. Shinji pilots Eva 01.

Alongside Shinji there's Rei who pilots Eva 00 and is the really quit type. She seems to be good friends with Shinji's dad (even though I think its not because their friends as much as he is looking after Rei) I'm not sure but I think Rei is not human as there's an episode were you see all these Rei's (naked) in a tank full of water, there either clones or just backup's if the first clone dies.

Then there's Asuka, the red haired German. She has a fiery personality and is always talking. She pilots Eva 02, which is the finished Eva as the first 2 were proto-types and she is proud as hell about it and boasts quit too.
