05//06 - Sanctuary
|
Ooh, almost 2 weeks this time . . . I can't believe I'm letting it
sleep like that. Must focus . . . Ok, not much interesting
happening the last couple of weeks anyway. Went home 2 weekends in a
row, first time because it was Mother's day weekend, second because
it was a long weekend and there was Party Potential. Like I said,
nothing really interesting happened either weekend. Hoping this one
is an improvement though, starting with X3 tomorrow (Friday)
afternoon, my birthday party that night, and then a full weekend in
town to find things to write about. If you're not religious, cross
your fingers for me. If you are, pray to your various and sundry
deities. Oh, and if you can figure out where that saying came from,
drop me a line :P .
Oh, and before I forget, I've finally found a place where I can
go to escape from the chaos that surrounds me! Not that chaos is a
bad thing, it's just nice to have a place to go for some quiet
reading and contemplation. I may (or may not) have mentioned that
Rupe showed me a neat little coffee house on Water Street, which was
suggested to him by a friend. Well, I've gone down a couple of times
on my own in the past week, and the atmosphere there is amazing.
I think I'm gonna make it a weekly thing, reading until I finish the
Cleric Quintet (just started book 5, I highly recommend the series),
then working on my novel project. After all this time, I have very
little setting, only 2 main characters, and barely a single cohesive
plot point. Tsk Tsk.
Well, that's about it for now, I'll update you as soon as I have
some more interesting news.

05//06 - Wii
|
OMG WEE!!!! Er, I mean Wii. Nintendo
Wii. Okay, I hate the name, they should have stuck with Revolution,
but have you seen any of the E3 videos? Read the interviews? The
news articles? The "underdog" that shaped the industry is at it
again, and they've stolen the show. At the end of the conference
today, wait times for the playtime with PS3, Next-Gen flagship for
current industry leader Sony, were reported at about 30 minutes,
while wait time for Wii were close to 2 FULL HOURS. The Wii "remote"
that's been made fun of even more than the console's new name, has
won over the crowds, and the prices that are being predicted are so
impressive, even Microsoft is encouraging you to buy it! See, at
current predicted prices, You can get a basic XBox 360 AND a
Nintendo Wii for the price of a single PS3!! Microsoft reps are
actually saying they want customers to bundle their system with
Nintendo's. I don't know what to say, add in the fact that
Nintendo is including free access to their online service, and a
downloadable library of past hits, and this thing could turn things
around for Nintendo. Not that they were really in trouble, but they
have lost a lot of market share to Sony and Microsoft in the current
generation. This thing though . . .
Ooh ooh ooh! And the software!
There's 2 things I'm lookin' at, and plan to have on release. Legend
of Zelda: Twilight Princess is gonna be released alongside the Wii,
in Wii and GameCube versions, and it looks like this will be the
first Zelda game I'm unable to turn down. Finally, I have glimpsed
into Nirvana.
YOU MUST WATCH. THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EXPLAIN.

05//06 - Party Weekend
|
My roommates and I threw a party last night, first one since I
moved in. I thought it was great, but I may be biased. I mean, every
girl there tried out my bouncy mattress at one time or another,
several new people started calling me Jesus. Jason got a little too
loaded, but it was technically his birthday party, so you can't
really blame him. After the bulk of the party ended, we ordered a
pizza and watched Monty Python. by the time the movie was over it
was 4:30 in the morning and everyone was falling asleep, so I
retreated to my bedroom, and was pleasantly surprised when Katie
chose to join me. For sleep only, but hey, its fun to say. At about
6 o'clock Nicole woke her up so she could get to work. She
accomplished this by jumping on the bed, which I repeat, is rather
bouncy. Somehow, I managed to sleep through it this time, to my
great disappointment. Perhaps another opportunity will present
itself, I mean, this wasn't the first time she'd done it. Oh, went
to a party the night before at my cousin's place. Was a little
disappointed there though, it ended early, he and friends are very
different my myself and mine, and the way the party ended was way
different from usual. Half the party left for downtown, everyone
else paired off and disappeared . . . Oh well, I got trough 7
years without spending time with person who was once my best friend.
I can survive a few more decades.
Small Update: And the party continues
. . . Yeah, after writing this entry last night, I got a call from
Nicole, looking for people to join her for Karaoke. I did accompany,
though I didn't have anything to drink, and therefore did not sing
anything either. There may be a next time though, she plans to do
this every Sunday night from now on. |
05//06 - Things are going good.
|
Just a quick note, sitting in school after writing an exam, had
to say something. Lets see, this exam ends the current semester,
tomorrow I start new classes on a new schedule, don't have to be at
school until 11am now, w00t! No more VB, (*sniffle*), no more
repetitive logic, no more Microsoft Outlook, and no more FrontPage
(yeah right, how do you think I'm maintaining THIS site). Also, the
class is less than half the size it has been, so . . . meh, I dunno
what that means, but I'll take it as a good thing. Also, I'm in
the new house, which is a very good thing, I'm already happier than
I was in the old place. Hmm, out of time, perhaps more later. |
