06/29/06 - Frustration

I know these gaps are getting worse, but trust me, there's less and less to write about lately. I got to go out to Hare Bay for Father's Day weekend, saw my siblings and nieces, but it was mostly uneventful. I keep trying to make progress and change things, but keep falling back into the same old routine. You'd think by now I'd have learned a trick or two, but nope, no real progress since the sixth grade.

Anyway, enough cryptic and depressing complaints, there's got to be something positive to report. Oh, making lots of progress on my novel. I've got the main character, his family and mentor, and the primary villains pretty well fleshed out, and an overall story arc that could find its way to epic proportions. I believe I said at one point that I was going to place some of the content on here as I created it, but I think I'm gonna have to avoid that, for the most part. I may eventually, place some sketch work and such, but I want to protect my work, make sure I'm the first to publish it, because if this goes well, I get the feeling writing may become my primary source of income. It would be a long time off, but in the meantime, keeping my fingers crossed.

06/08/06 - United at Last

Heyo all. Major technical difficulties, I can't seem to establish a reliable connection very often, and by the time I do find one, the moment is lost, I can't remember what I wanted to write about. But I'm working on it, and I have a connection right now at Hava Java, so I can write a quick entry.

Ok, not much changing lately anyway, just keeping busy with school, family and social life. Spending more and more time out wandering about with friends. Next weekend though I'm gonna go to my grandparent's place in Hare Bay, where for the first time EVER my father's four children will be in the same place at the same time . . . and on Father's Day no less! The only thing that detracts from the coolness of this is the fact that our father can't be in the same province, but he can't really be faulted for it, with a family to support and all. See, step-mom is bringing half-bro Joey and half-sis Sara home to the island, and since big-sis Natasha lives close by our paternal grandparents, I'm the only wildcard, so I'm gonna go outta my way to make sure we are all united, at least for an afternoon. Oh, and if I can get a friend to join me, I'll get one of Mom and Step-Dad's cars for the weekend, so no bus for me!

Anyway, like I said, myself and a friend are currently at my new favorite sanctuary, Hava Java. We're just relaxing 'cuz it's been a long exam-filled week, so we went out today to get a break, stopped at a museum where we missed a friend-of-a-friend's performance of a traditional Chinese ribbon dance, hung out for a while, then the bunch moved here. Most have left, now the two of us are hanging out. Oh, and I would be remiss to leave out the wonderful admission stickers we were forced to wear, but that's one of those "you had to be there" stories.

Well, that should be long enough to tide you over until I get another reliable connection and a story worth writing. Everybody cross your fingers that that's soon!
