04//06 - Neverwinter Nights
|
Still haven't got my computer online, working from school, and I
don't think I'll be expanding on what I was saying before. I did
have something I wanted to mention though . . . Now, I know this
review is years late in coming, but I just bought Neverwinter
Nights. I was never extremely interested in this game, but I've
recently started reading Forgotten Realms novels (ooh, that's
something else I should review!) and when I realized this was a DnD
game, I just had to try it. So when I was at EB and found the
Diamond Edition (game plus 3 expansions and a bunch of extra
modules) for only 30 Canadian Bucks and tax, I couldn't help it. I'm
not far into the game, but I've created a couple of characters.
The character creation engine, while not providing much in the way of
physical adjustments, rival even The Sims, by my humble estimation.
It uses almost every option and customizable feature of the Dungeons
and Dragons character rules! For those of you who don't understand
the completeness of this,
here's a site (or section of one at least) that explains it.
There are many others out there, you should run a few searches.
The graphics aren't great, but considering the timeline of this
game's creation, its fairly impressive. I've played through the
earliest stages of the first campaign, and watched a few cut scenes
of the "Hordes of the Underdark" expansion, and I can see I'm in for
a truly epic experience, not to mention a few good laughs along the
way.

04//06 - Damn, the Cycle
Continues . . .
|

Hey, real short entry today. Reformatted my computer and now my
network drivers don't work, and it'll be a while before I get access
to the original drivers, so I'm updating from school.
I don't
really have a lot to say anyway, had a great time over Easter, big
parties, only one small disappointment (aside from what I mentioned
before about the party), and I finally managed to straighten out my
apartment situation. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but
I'm moving next week into a house filled with friends, which is
actually where the biggest parties I attend have been taking place.
Going to be lotsa fun (I hope), though I can only stay till the end
of the summer.
Well, that's all for now, may be back with more details later in
the week, but I'd say I'll more likely forget and just update you on
what happens in the meantime. |
04//06 - Happy Easter
|
Well, its Easter Sunday, and I'm sitting here in my parent's house
watching Lord of the Rings on Dad's new 52" TV with Dad and Robert.
My big plans for Easter got changed at the last minute because my
parents bought a house and had to stick around to meet with
inspectors and lawyers and such, but it wasn't a total loss. I had
to move my party to a friend's house, and his parent's weren't gone
the whole night, but it was a good party nonetheless, and I get to
have Easter Dinner (er, supper, our big meal is gonna be late) with
the family. Now I'm not staying in Clarkes Beach as long as
expected, but I may get a couple days here to myself. Tomorrow after
the folks meet with their lawyers they'll know whether or not they
can leave town on Tuesday. If they can, then I'll stay here and have
the place to myself, though I doubt there'll be anybody coming out
to spend any of the time with me. If they can't, then I'll be going
back in town on Tuesday, (fingers crossed), and I'll learn whether
or not an important ship has sailed. It seems the deck is stacked
against me, but I'm optimistic, and my spirit has yet to be truly
crushed. You here me Universe? I will not be broken! |
04//06 - Messin' Wit mah page . .
. at school, hehehe
|
Heyo! I just figured out that I could edit this place from school,
in FrontPage, without leaving a copy of my files on their computers,
so now I'm just messing with stuff. I'm liking AngelFire a little
more now, I may just have to buy more space on here some day. Hmm .
. . how much have I used . . . ooh, only 8.9 of 20.0 MB!

04//06 - Natural High
|
You ever feel like you're totally buzzed, but you have no real
reason to be? You know, its just a normal day, you've been eating
normal food, going about your normal routine, but for no apparent
reason you're just on cloud 9? That's how I'm feeling today. I can't
really think of anything that could cause it. Well, I suppose
there's the date I had last night, which seemed to go well for most
of the evening, but, I dunno, it seemed to flatline near the end.
I'm optimistic though, I blame the late hour (it was kind of "group
date", 3 couples for most of the evening, and since dinner took so
long, instead of going to a theatre, we went to someone's house to
watch a DVD) and the extreme heat in the house. I'll see later on
though, when I call her up try to schedule some one-on-one time.
Wow, I really must be high or something, I never write such
specifics on my blog on this kind of issue, but I can't bring myself
to delete it . . . Anyway, that's enough of that. I stayed in town
again this weekend, 2nd in a row, and guess who called me to find
out why? Rupe & Heidi's Mom! I thought that was pretty funny. Sorry
Mrs. Gushue, I certainly enjoy drinking with you, I've got more
important matters to attend here in town.
Oh, got a haircut yesterday! Nothing major, I kept pretty much
the same style, but it's now two inches shorter. In case you're
wondering, it's now a little shorter than the older picture in my
profile, and they trimmed up the beard too. Its now just a mustache
and a neatly trimmed Goatee. Most people say the hair change is
barely noticeable, but I've gotten a few compliments on the beard.
They put a lot of "product" in my hair too, which, frankly, I hated,
but I left it in for the night and washed it out first thing this
morning. |
