Magic System.

Five types of magic. Water, Air, Earth, Fire, and Grey. The levels are the same for all types of magic.

Level one - only works in a radius of four feet. Saps a small amount of energy, depending on how high a mage you are. If you’re a novice, this will take about half of your energy. It gets lower the higher you go.

Level two - works in a radius of eight feet. Saps 3/4 of a novice’s energy.

Level three - radius of 12 feet. If you’re a novice and you cast this spell, god help you because you won’t be able to walk very far. Takes 1/4 of a cleric or Warrior Mage’s energy.

Level four - 16 feet. (duh). Novices can’t cast it, takes about 1/2 of a Warrior Mage or a Cleric’s energy.

Level five - 20 feet. (have you figured it out by now?) 3/4 of Warrior Mage or Cleric’s energy.

Level six - Human’s can’t cast this or any higher spells.  24 feet. God help the Warrior Mage or Cleric that casts this.

Level seven. You should have figured it out by now. Great Sages can cast all the spells.

Level 8, 9, and 10.. add four to each one. Duh.

Air spells can be used for anything from wind to flight spells. Level one will only carry you a few feet, or will carry objects or other such things. Be creative.

Fire spells are mostly destructive. Can be used to heat things. Dwarves can cast low level fire spells.

Earth spells grow or solidify. Plant life and rock. Giants can cast level one earth spells.

Water spells are also destructive. Can freeze. Infuse things with water. Etc.

Grey spells are any of the spells that aren’t elemental. Healing magic is grey magic.

You can combine magic types, to a certain degree. Novices cant, and Warrior Mages/Clerics can only combine low level spells. Great Sages can combine higher level spells, but god help the sage that combines a level 10 with a level 10. That would nearly kill them.

For an example on how the combinations work:
Level 1 Fire + Level 1 Water: Can be either boiling water or steam, or some other form of heated water. Takes twice the amount of energy a normal level one spell would.
Level 1 Air + Level 1 Water: Clouds, rain -- basically weather.
Level 1 Earth + Level 1 Water: Mud? I don't know. You be creative.
Just go from there.
