Aeon

Drawing Aeon suggests a spiritual rebirth. The individual has overcome some obstacle, and arisen from the ashes refreshed. However, this renewed state is tenuous at best, and the individual will continued to be judged and weighed, caught still between the struggles of the primal and the spiritual.

The image is of three figures. The man and the woman; the Magus and the Witch from the first two images, represent the matured energies of the spiritual and the primal. The third figure is their metaphysical child, the higher self, now freed and independent of these two urges. He is the true self. Above them is the greater urge of the universe, the demi-urge, sounding a trumpet to set aside false ideals a seek the truth of the self.

The structure of the image is simple. The demi-urge is enclosed in the circle of spiritual balance, distinct and unsupported by the material square below. The development of the two spheres of existence is complete, and they are no longer dependent on one another. The individual, between these two spheres, has the power to shift from one to another at will. The traditional meaning of this image indicates regeneration, legal victory, and success.
