10)Johnny Cash - "Solitary Man"
Okay...I make no bones about the fact that I think Johnny Cash is the greatest thing to learn a G chord. Age hasn't slowed down the man's ability to tell a story as you can hear on this album, his third collaboration with producer Rick Rubin. The song "I See a Darkness," a duet with writer Will Oldham, will get you misty if you have anything even remotely resembling a soul. The next track on the album, a cover of Nick Cave's "The Mercy Seat," is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. I don't know enough words to do that song or this album it's proper credit.

9)Traveling Wilburys - "Volume One"
This is the greatest album ever made by a group of made up legends. The Wilburys were made up of Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, George Harrison, and Roy Orbison. Each man gets a chance to shine, and this record caters to each performer's individual strengths. I've worn out sooo many copies of this thing. Highest praise, indeed.

8)Public Enemy - "Yo! Bum Rush the Show!"
This is as good as rap gets. Period. "Public Enemy #1" (available for download here) Is my favorite hip-hop song ever, and it should be yours. This is one of the most smartly-written angry albums the world has ever seen. Absolutely brutal in it's own sweet way.

7)Black Sabbath - "Paranoid"

It's fucking SABBATH! This is the first metal album ever, and still one of the best. Any album with both "Paranoid" and "War Pigs" just reeks of evil goodness. HAIL SATAN!!

6)Radiohead - "OK Computer"
Okay. This album proves one of my most long-standing musical truths. I love stuff that doesn't sound like anything else. This album definitely fits that bill. It's amazing to me that they can start the album off with a song like "Airbag" and still have all the tracks that follow be able to live up to such an intro. Most bands couldn't do that. I just wish they'd stop taking themselves so seriously as of late

5)Simon and Garfunkel - "Bridge Over Troubled Water"
Okay. This album woould be head and tails above most others anyway. For me, it takes on a whole new dynamic, as this is the album upon which you'll find my favorite song "The Boxer." Everything about this song is perfect. Lyrics, music, performance, production...everything. I've spent many an evening with this album. The title track and "Cecilia" ain't too shabby, either.

4)The Clash - "London Calling"
The ONLY BAND THAT MATTERS! This album represents everything good and decent about rock and roll, and beats the horseshit out of "Combat Rock." Bands like Rage Against The Machine and Public Enemy owe so much to this album, it's not even funny. "Rudie Can't Fail" and "Train In Vain" are just two of the choice tracks you'll find here.

3)Jane's Addicion - "Ritual de lo Habitual"
Yes, this album has "Stop" and "Been Caught Stealing." This is by far their most commercial album...but it's also by far one of the best albums I think I've ever heard. "Classic Girl" and the aptly-titled "Three Days" will blow the back of your head off, if you'll give them the chance.

2)Guns n' Roses - "Appetite For Destruction"
Fuck Hootie. Fuck Alanis. This is the greatest debut album by any band ever. They were at the top of their game and their addictions at this point, the result being an incredible album with no give to it whatsoever. Relentless. Absofuckinglutely relentless.

And there we have the 24 "almost greatest" albums of all time, as decided by me and me only. There's only one more to go, and you can find it by clicking here .
