Born:June 26, 1959, in Ottawa, Ontario.
Parents: Russell (a Canadian diplomat) and Chloe (an architectural writer) McKinney.
Middle child
--Early Life-- Since Mark's father was a diplomat, he and his family moved world-wide. Mark, his mother, his father, His older sister Jane, and his younger brother Nick lived in many different international towns, such as Washington D.C. After a while, the family moved back to Canada. Mark had a short go at the university of Newfoundland, majoring in political science. He worked at the college's radio station.
---The Making of KITH---
Later Mark went to Calgary and worked at Foothills Piano shop. He took classes at Loose Moose Theater Co, where he met Bruce. Mark and Bruce along with others they formed the comedy group "the audience." Later, Mark and Bruce moved to Toronto, met up with Dave, Kevin and Scott, and made the Kids in the Hall. (Perfect happy ending, eh?)
--Family Life--
Mark married Marina Gharabegianin September of 1995.
He now lives in New York City's Upper West end with his wife and his son, Christopher Thomas Russell McKinney, born march 4, 1996. (how sweet!)

Nick, Mark lil brother, has been on various KITH sketches and on the "Vacant Lot" sketch comedy show that was on Comedy Central. (Sorry i don't have much info on that, i've never heard of the show.)
