---Early life----Bruce was raised in Calgary. After high school he attended Mount Royal College, where he studied journalism and public relations. He never graduated, but he did begin taking classes with TheaterSports and the Loose Moose Theater Company.
---Bruce with the Kids----
There, at Loose Moose Theater company, he met up with Mark McKinney. Bruce and Mark along with two other comedians, formed the comedy troupe The Audience. After a while Bruce and Mark moved to Toronto, where they met with Dave, Kevin and Scott to Complete the Kids In the Hall.

In 1995, he relased Shame Based Man, a solo comedy album. From 1997 through 1999 he went on tour with his one man show Slightly Bigger Cities. He also appeared on the short-lived canadian sitcom, Twitch City. He has also been directing mmovies lately, such as "Dogpark", and the SNL based "superstar."
