Doodling

Supplies came in, the weather was co-operating and I had the time to do a little work, too bad it was just a LITTLE work.  I took this Pic, just to show how the bottom vee's. This should cushion a little of the pounding in a chop. I have done nothing except shove it out of the garage.

Almost the same view, about 1.5 hours later. Actually this one is to to show the bresthook that I made and the 2 nails that are holding it in, for now.  I took some scrap 3/4" luaun, laid it on top of the bow and marked the shape on the underneith. I cut it out with a 10° bevel and then hand finished the bevel to fit nicely. I will cut a radius in the rear part later.

I attached a couple of pine furring strips as temporary gunnels to see how well they form the sides...quite well indeed. I can also see that the front curve is gonna be a real B....ear. This is 3/4" and I will be using 1/2" Oak, hopefully it will bend a little better.  I will probably need a couple more bar clamps, I don't think that spring clamps will have the beef to hold. I may have to use screws even.
