Brief Overview

I am 3^rd generation Canadian; born/raised/educated in Western Canada. My Mother is of French lineage, and my Father was of German descent. I have worked for ten years in Canada, and worked in East Asia for many years.

Previously I taught adults under the Vancouver School Board. Co-ran a grade school in Asia for 2 years. Wrote two grade school level textbooks. 2 years experience teaching English in Korea, including teaching English, Science, and Math at an international school in Seoul.

My degree is in Math (BSc: University of Victoria, Canada), and earned a MBA from del la Salle. Most of my background has been in the IT field. That said I am no stranger to writing, having written requirements documents, user guides and a textbook (for grade school). Also, I am a member of a number of TESL related organizations, such as, TESLEJ-L, ELTASIA-L, ESLCC, and EST-L. In my previous career, teaching was very much part of the work; teaching new staff, and teaching users, as well as group activities like chairing meetings, and making presentations.

Most of the past 10 years has been spent abroad; Korea (2 years), Austria (6 months), Hong Kong (1 month), New Zealand (1 month), Taiwan (1 month), Singapore (1 year), and the Philippines (several years).

Being a Canadian, my accent is neutral. Being divorced with no children means greater freedom, and fewer distractions.Being patience and knowing the challenges of communicating in another language means I can better relate to the student.

I would be interested in teaching positions;
