I do not say
A word at all
I do not see
A justice fall
But I do cry out
Into the night
I do see things
All the peoples’ plight
But I must not speak
I must not fear
I must remember
I must stay near
I am but
A mortal man
I am only
A justice’s hand
I feel pain
The heart-wrenching cries
I feel sorrow
The peoples’ sighs
But I can only
Pretend to be
I can only
Pretend to see
I must believe
In this false truth
While I must deal
With the heartless uncouth
I am an officer
A man of laws
I’m only human
I have my flaws.
