MapHack Companion (MHC) Copyright (C) PetSound Industries, 2001.

Version 1.05 (October18th, 2001)

This program requires at minimum Mousepad's MapHack v4.1.

Program Installation:
Simply unzip MFC.exe into the same folder as d2maphack.exe. The folder MUST be the same as d2maphack for the program to function correctly.

Creating a Desktop Shortcut (for the novices out there):
Using Windows Explorer, change folder to the location where you unzipped MHC. Locate the file MHC.exe and right click on the icon. While holding down the right mouse button, drag the icon to the desktop and then let go of the mouse button. Rename the shortcut (optional) to "MHC" or "MapHack Companion" (both options without quotes).

Running MHC:
Change folders to the location where you unzipped MHC and double click the MHC.exe icon or, if you created a desktop shortcut as outlined above, double click the icon now on your desktop.

This program needs to be run BEFORE running Mousepad's MapHack.

Using "Auto":
NOTE: You must have Diablo II running to use this feature.
What does "Auto" do?
1: Saves your MHC configuration file (note: the config file saved is the currently loaded one)
2: Generates Mousepad's MapHack configuration file
3: Launches Mousepad's MapHack
4: Acknowledges Mousepad's MapHack initial dialog message
5: Brings Diablo II back to the front
6: Plays the "Quest Completed" sound to tell you "Auto" has finished

Version History:

Version 1.05:
Added support for "string" descriptors rather than "letter" descriptors for "special hit" monsters

Version 1.04:
Added support for version 4.1 of Mousepad's MapHack which includes:
	addition of gold color/amount setting
	separate settings for gems/skulls
addition of setting visuals, monsters and level names on or off when starting a game
addition of "Special Hit" descriptors for monsters (immunities to follow)
option to show rune numbers or not
selection of mini or standard shrines
adjusted "Auto" function to reflect new version of MapHack
changed "Default" settings to give a more "random" look
checks existence of d2maphack.dll to ensure correct version

Version 1.03:
Removed Verdana font setting to fix compatability issues with Win2K.
Reformatted windows according to default font settings
Removed "Exit" button (to make room for other buttons). Program now closes only by the close control (X).

Version 1.02:
Added support for multiple MHC configuration files.
This feature was added to support different character classes needing to identify different item grades as good.
As an example, a Sorceress might want Greater Mana Potions as good but an Amazon is not interested in mana potions so she uses the default (white).

Version 1.01:
Fixed a minor bug when setting defaults for potions, gems and charms
Changed the wording of Mousepad's MapHack acknowledgement and also made it appear when the program starts rather than every time you use the auto function. This way, Mousepad always receives the acknowledgment he deserves and also speeds up the auto function
Closed MHC when the auto function completes
Added support for the "Level" name color (actually added in 1.00 but I forgot to mention it)

Version 1.00: First "Official" Release
Added "Life Bar Transparency" functionality
Added a "Restore" function to restore last saved settings
Corrected the selectable colors for runes, charms, gems and potions (colors now are in game colors)
First official release - no longer in BETA

Version 0.10 (BETA):
Fixed a minor bug that incorrectly displayed life bar color after setting
Enhanced the color picker by displaying what you are setting and also used color inversion to make the selected color stand out more
Split "Lifebar" into 2 words - "Life Bar"

Version 0.09 (BETA):
Finally got all the colors fixed! Clicking the "Screenshot Colors" box will use the "Screenshot Colors" palette, clicking the "In Game Colors" box will use the "In Game Colors" palette.
Increased font size to ensure correct scaling
Changed the format of the color picker
Added an "auto function" (see above on what this does).
Added support for level name key selection and color
Changed the "Monster" and "Player" tabs to "Alerts" and "Informational"
Added text display of the hex code associated with the color of monsters and players
Added support for the "Level Name" color (default NumPad +)

Version 0.08 (BETA):
Added extra controls ready for the DX colors (see comment above - DirectX (DX) Color Differences)
Enhanced the color picker so it now statically displays the current color and hex code and flashes the "selected" color

Version 0.07 (BETA):
Added color functionality for charms
Added a keyboard graphic for setting hot keys (just click the key on the graphic you want to use) in addition to the current key press
Added accelerator keys for all tabs, save, exit, launch MapHack and use defaults

Version 0.06 (BETA):
Added color functionality for gems, rejuvenation potions, health potions and mana potions

Version 0.05 (BETA):
Added a "Use Default" function
Added a "Launch MapHack" function

Version 0.04 (BETA):
IMPORTANT: Program now requires MapHack version 3.6b or later
Your MHC config file WILL be reset the first time you use this version
Removed the last 32 colors form the color picker (these change with each act)
Added the additional settings to comply with MapHack 3.6b, plus a few future ones
NOTE: A lot of the settings are disabled at this time
Slightly changed the format of the display
Included the Verdana font in the archive as this is the font the program uses it.

Version 0.03 (BETA):
You can now specify which keys you wish to use as the 3 "hot" keys
NOTE: The first time you run this version only the hex code will be shown.

Version 0.02 (BETA):
Removed the "Lifebar Transparency" control - this doesn't exactly do much (at least I couldn't make it change)
Change the "Good Rune Number" control to what it's supposed to be - the 1st "good" rune number, not a color setting
NOTE: Still working to get the correct colors you select to be displayed - there seems to be some inconsistencies in the palette

Version 0.01 (BETA):
Initial Release

IMPORTANT NOTE:
To significantly reduce the program size, this program has been compiled using MFC with shared DLLs. If you find you can not run the program, email me at the email address above and I will send a version which uses MFC with static DLLs by return email.
