System Engineer 1
Responsibilities:
- Account and partner responsibilities for selected accounts in assigned territory. Learn relevant solution sets, architectures and full product line specifications.
- Keep up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and services.
- Provide technical and sales support for accounts in assigned territory.
- Participate in technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects.
- Assist in the development of formal sales proposals.
- Follow the activities of the Virtual Teams, but may not be an active participant.
- Set-up and operate equipment for customer demonstrations and evaluations.
Requirements:
- 3+ years internetworking experience. Technology product experience and/or relevant experience in key competitor offerings. Pre-Sales experience ESSENTIAL.
- Knowledge of baseline SE skills; specifically switching, routing/routed protocols and IP.2.
- Preliminary knowledge in one of the following areas of specialization: VPN's, Security, QoS, Remote/Local Access, IBM, Multi-Service (Voice and Video), Campus/MAN, WAN, Optical Networking, Transmission Systems or Wireless (relevant to assignment).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, good listening and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member.
- Ability to understand technical issues and the ability to apply solutions, technology and products to a business opportunity.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting skills.
Education:
- Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent. CCNA & CCDA Certification Required.
- New hire must obtain certification within first year of employment.
