Prior to developing Invader Zim, Jhonen Vasques worked on a number of different comic books including Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and Squee. Occasionally one of the characters from his comic books makes a cameo appearance in the series. Filler Bunny
Filler Bunny was genetically engineered in a lab for the sole purpose of filling up pages in Jhonen's comic books. He first appeared in the Squee TPB and has since appeared in i feel sick and two comics of his own. His life is one of unending suffering. Appears in: Walk of Doom, Dark Harvest
Johnny the Homicidal Maniac
As the name suggests, Johnny is a serial killer. Aside from that he's a nice guy though. He is also called "Nny." A "nightmare" version of him appears in the Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom.
Eric the vampire
Eric was a teenage goth who wished he could become a vampire. He got his wish, but the results weren't quite what he expected. Appears in: Plague of Babies

A pair of highly unintelligent aliens from Squee. Appears in: Abducted
Character from The Bad Art Collection
A strange, unnamed character from the Bad Art Collection. Appears in: Plague of Babies
Z?
The Z? symbol appears several times in the Johnny the Homicidal Maniac series. Apparently it means "questionable sleep." Appears in: Walk of Doom
