I was an assistant for the Bahrain NOC (National Olympic Committee) and for the Bahrain NPC (National Paralympics Committee). I am selling my Athens 2004 Olympic Games volunteer uniforms:

I am an NOC and NPC assistant for the Bahrain Olympic delegation, for the Athens 2004 Olympics that were held in Greece.

My position was that of a volunteer, in other words no I did not get paid to work 12 to 15 hours a day for 5 weeks straight. Albeit I did it with a smile, it was a very demanding experience. I have had many life lessons while going through this adventure.

I have shot many photos of instances where I thought that a picture would capture the experience more closely. Mpegs are for sale.

 

My daily routine was anything but that.

In the first week of the arrival of the team the most trying period was when they settled down.

We, by that I mean the other NOC volunteer and myself since we were two, arranged everything, from purchasing broomsticks, to guiding the team around the nightlife streets of downtown Athens.

I always enjoyed knowing that five minutes would in practicality mean around 30 to 45 minutes on a swatch watch, an official sponsor. Heineken was too a sponsor, we increased their sales!

The NOC assistants section organized a party and pin swapping event catered for with water. A lot of people having a lot of good clean fun I had a smile from ear to ear.

Laundry bags, gift bags, hotel reservations during the high tourist season of August, during the Olympics! The Queen Mary 2, The King George Hotel, the Hilton, the Divani Caravel, shopping, minivan, Sonata, Hyundai Minivan H1, Training, staying up late, waking up early, not sleeping.

Walking miles and miles everyday, all you can eat, meal coupons, guest pass, Accreditation, infinity, assistant’s meetings, hosting a Spaniard from the Barcelona Olympics, Louis. Louis Louis, Asia region, Back office, my hat!!!

Mobile phones provided by Samsung, they suck!!!!! Christina the other NOC assistant, Neraziotissa, the Proastiako, the Metro, busses, cleaning the car, dirty cars, security checks, Dimitris driver and police, Alex, Betty and RC 13. PD06, Bahrain Sheik Ali and my present to him, I gave him my Athens 2004 jacket. Beautiful bodies, heavenly faces, gorgeous people, and a wonderful time. Heavenly experiences and a friendly atmosphere.
