Contributing to Society

Our society is so backwards and fucked up that they think the only way you can contribute to society is by making a heap of money. This is in addition to the fact that most of society sees no difference between making a contribution to society versus making a contribution to humanity, but believe me, there is a big gap between the two. Society is our current little bullshit self-absorbed way of thinking and acting with all the most pressing and damaging flaws in human ideology mixed in to do their worst. Humanity is the eventual potential of the human race. Sometimes, if your goals are for the betterment of humanity, they can be in outright contradiction of the goals of society. And although these are the moments in which people should hoist you up on their shoulders and shout “hurrah” in celebration for having figured out a better way, most likely what will happen is that you will be crucified on the national news and shows like “Oprah” and you’ll also be declared a public enemy and a terrorist.

Contribute to society my ass. The truth is society doesn’t matter two parts of a fuck. Humanity is the thing to concentrate on. Humanity is the prize. Society is temporary and unimportant and it only seems otherwise because our lives are too short to be able to watch current moronic thinking fade away.

Oh, how I would wish for immortality just for the satisfaction of being able to sit back and observe all these stupid ideas that people hold drift off into oblivion. God that would be satisfying.

But I know that I’m going to die, and that makes me desperate, like so many others, to work against the heavily flowing current of society and try to get these stupid ideas changed in my lifetime so that I might have a bit of peace in my later years.

Notice how I never mentioned making money as a goal for me or my life. You’ve got to keep your eye on the bigger picture. There is nothing worse that I can imagine than getting to the end of my life and realizing that I spent the whole time pursuing an idiotic belief that has no relevance to anything. I want the things I do in this world to matter, and, unfortunately, that means doing pretty much the opposite of what society conditions you to want.

But let’s just back up for a minute and look at where that conditioning and pressure comes from. One of the things that constantly pisses me off about the news is the way they make out young people (25 and under) to be the source of all the problems in America. They say things like “Young people are shooting each other, young people are taking drugs, TV and Violent video games have made young people violent, etc., etc.,”. God I’m sick of that crap. First of all half the problem is that young people aren’t allowed to have any say in what the media prints. If you had some under 25 year old people working for magazines and newspapers, maybe then somebody would point out that it is the fucking baby-boomers who are responsible for the sorry state of shit. That there never used to be school shootings until they took over as parents. I think it’s really fucking sick that the youthful generation of America has to be subjected to this Nazi Anti-Semite propaganda telling the world how awful and twisted they are, especially when you consider that all the problems that young people have are due to the fact that American parents don’t give two shits about their kids.

It’s true, they don’t give a fuck. They’re too busy out trying to make money and contribute to society. As if these two things are equal.

Do you really think that a guy like Donald Trump has contributed to society? Give me a break, the guy’s rich because he’s basically strong-armed good, hard working people out of their birthrights and traditional livelihood. He’s a fucking thug, but America loves him because he’s rich. They can’t see any further than that. Well I could probably be rich too if I gave up all my morals and did nothing but stomp on people’s lives, it’s a fuck of a lot harder to go through life taking responsibility for your actions, but nobody in our culture throws accolades at that ideology.

But the ironic part is that I doubt Donald Trump, despite the fact that he is the poster-boy to turn us into labor-slaves, works more than a few hours a day. He’s probably got it figured out where he delegates most of his responsibility to underlings and just rakes in the profits. This is a contribution? But nevertheless your parents are likely to say shit like, “you have a resposibility to society, you need to go out and get a job!” This to sixteen year old kids who are only qualified to be exploited at McDonald’s or Wall-Mart.

God those places are bullshit, any parent that allows their child to work in either of those environments should be ashamed of themselves. You aren’t on your way to being rich and powerful and self-confident and happy by working at some fast food joint. The only thing they teach at those places is how to be a non-thinking drone.

Parents today think they need to instill the modern misconception of the work-ethic, and they spend untold amounts of time praising their system rather than seeing how fucked up it is. Back in hunter/gatherer days people used to work, on average, something between 3 and 4 hours a day. Modern Americans would scoff at that and call them lazy and deride them for “wasting” so many hours in which so much work could be done. But that attitude is so stupid and arrogant that it makes my knuckles white with anger. Primitive people didn’t “waste” the extra time. They used it. And do you know how they used it?

THEY TAUGHT THEIR CHILDREN HOW TO DEAL WITH THE WORLD.

Telling your child, “Get a job at McDonald’s so that you can pay for your college,” is not preparing your child for the world.

God what a fucking joke this society is. I can’t believe it is so shallow and callous. Nobody gives a fuck about their kids. Parents get all haughty and pissed off when one of their children expects that the parent help them to pay for their college.

Wake up call to the parent, if you spent all the extra hours you had working rather than properly instructing your child, then yes, damn right, the child is ENTITLED to your paying his/her tuition. You have a responsibility as a parent, you’ve ignored it, paying the tuition is a small fraction of what you owe.

This attitude that if you aren’t working you aren’t accomplishing anything is a big fucking joke. Just sitting and thinking on a hill can be far more important in the overall scheme of things than toiling away for hours next to a deep-fat fryer. Sure, when the end of the week comes you won’t have your paycheck, but that paycheck would be gone in a week anyway, and the thoughts that you sorted out while you reflected alone will be with you for the rest of your life.

You want to know who makes contributions to humanity? Artists, philosophers, thinkers, poets. People who use creativity. Not idiotic businessmen who strong-arm the weak just for the purpose of gaining personal luxury.

“Contribute to society, get a job!” What a crock of shit. Do you think the human race would be better off if somebody like Einstein toiled away at a McDonald’s rather than sat on a hill and contemplated his theories on the construction of the universe? Working at McDonald’s is a complete waste of human potential, any job that does not require the development of creativity is a waste of human potential. Virtually none of our society encourages creative development and therefore our society is contrary to the progress of humanity.

But there is one job that is always at the fringes of humanity and which requires the most creativity of them all.

Thief.

Yep, you’ve got to eat too don’t you? And if society makes it impossible to maintain your commitment to the progress of humanity, then it is your duty as a moral being to disobey its edicts. Don’t work at McDonald’s, steal from McDonald’s. Don’t work for Donald Trump, steal from Donald Trump. These people and these institutions only got their money and their power by performing illegal acts that their corrupt lawyer and senator friends made laws to allow. It’s time we started seeing through the veil. You can’t win with the way things are set up now, a different set of rules apply to the people in power. That’s bullshit.

You’ve seen the example our leaders set. How much time did George W. Bush spend in Vietnam? None, and neither did any of the other children of government officials! But why should one of your relatives be forced to go over and die? Screw it! If the rules don’t apply to them, they don’t apply to me either. Somebody’s got to enforce this pressure. If the leaders don’t hold themselves to the rules that they create for the masses, how are they ever going to become aware of the flaws in those rules and correct them? The answer is never, unless the people simply refuse to follow them anymore.

And if you somehow made the ruling body see these horrible mistakes, by brute force if necessary, and if they eventually changed them....do you know what that would be?

A contribution to society, and humanity.

Win-win.

Get to it!

The End

(Disclaimer: Don't literally go out and start robbing places and claim that you were encouraged to by this article. I only meant it as a catharsis of some emotional angst. The last thing that I need is to get a bunch of pissed off soccer moms on my ass who blame me for the fact that their kids are in jail because of the influence I had with a 2 minute article and not because they are shitty parents. Again...don't actually rob anybody. But don't buy McDonald's or Donald Trump products either.)

Home Sweet Home
