- GL Pease "Samarra"
- Dan Tobak "Gordon Pym"
- Esoterica "Pembroke"
Fred Krafcik
- Renaissance

My favorites are G.L Pease Renaissance, Dunhill London Mixture., and Esoterica Tobacciana Penzance. All are excellent smokes, IMHO.
Bucksmoke
- Renaissance
- Raven's Wing
- Plantation Evening
- Ten Russians
- 965
- EMP
- SMM
Fernand Flament
All Schuerch blends in the Classic English Series with a strength of 6 or more (Tarek's scale):
- Pelican (Butera)
- Rattray: 3Noggins and Accountant's
- McConnel: Scottish Blend
- The Smoker: Legacy
- Hermit: Mystic
Never omit the Dunhill's to get initiated to what is called "English" (what's in a name?). Well, that's a way to start...
John Edwards
Squadron Leader, with 965 a close second.
Bruce Collins
- Renaissance
- Hermit's Mystic
- Hermit's Syrian Cake
- C&D Bayou Night
- Perettis D9507
Jeff Schwartz
Just some that I like and in no particlular order:
- Dunhill 965. This one has kick but it is also very smooth as well as being quite tobacco tasty.
- Dunhill Nightcap. One of my favorites. Wonderfully strong and tobacco tasty.
- McClelland Frog Morton. English like. It has a slight topping to it so it is quite sweet for an English styled blend. It will leave a slight after taste with your palate if you smoke more than a few bowls of this in a day. In the right pipe, though, this one is really nice.
- McClelland 5110. Some consider it a better Frog Morton (a lot less if no topping at all). Buy it by the pound for about 20 bucks. An all day smoker.
- McClelland Oriental #6.
- McClelland Arcadia.
- A blend from my tobacconist called Baker Street East. Easily an all day smoke. Mild and very tasty.
- Ashton Celbrated Sovereign. Rich in Syrian Latakia, I consider this a cousin to Arcadia and in some ways I like it much, much more than Arcadia but of course YMMV.
Tom Clemons
- Esoterica's Penzance
- Dunhill Early Morning Pipe
- Dunhill Nightcap
- Esoterica's Pembroke
- C&D Bayou Night
- Pipes & Pleasure's Old English
- Frog Morton is a good starter, still enjoy it.
Andy Chase
- DanPipe/CAO Midnight Ride
- Esoterica Penzance
- Dunhill Early Morning Pipe
Kendal Franceschi
- Raven's Wing
- White Spot
- Old Ironsides
- Midnight Ride
- Mephisto (Is this English? who cares it's grrreat!)
- Kendal
Bob Wilderson
My faves are:
- Dunhill EMP
- GLPease Renaissance
- Esoterica Pembroke
- Ashton Celebrated Sovereign
If you want something really smooth, but not overly complex, you might try either of McClellands' Frogs (Frog Morton on the Town being the better of the two, IMHO). If you're not already familiar with English blends, they might serve as an introduction.
Mary
Can't believe that no one put Penzance on their list. I think it is one of the best.
